Product description

This Neet HD product allows you to extend your HDMI cable range up to 30 metres (at 1080p) Full HD / 3D + IR control by using 2x Ethernet Cat5e/6/7 network cables. PLEASE NOTE: The IR Control function requires the optional Neet IR probe TX + RX kit which is available separately.

This is the latest version of our best selling HDMI over Cat5e/6 extender, we have now added the IR Control feature (requires optional Neet IR V2 Master blaster probes). This feature allows the remote control of the source device (eg: Sky HD / Bluray etc.) at the extended display location when the extender is used in conjunction with the OPTIONAL Neet IR TX + RX probes. The TX and RX probes simply connect to the 3.5mm ports on the TX and RX Extender units at the source and display.

Please Note: Good quality 24AWG solid or stranded copper core Cat6 cables are recommended for reliable performance.

The source HDMI cable plugs into the TX unit HDMI input... then 2 x Cat-5e / Cat-6 cables are used to send the HD signal to the RX unit in lengths up to 30m Full HD 1080p... then another HDMI cable is used from the receiver unit to the HDMI input of the HDTV, monitor or projector display device... simple. Note: In order to achieve reliable transmission and pure HD picture quality we highly recommend using high quality CAT-6 cable. As with most AV cables, lower quality cables may not achieve reliable performance over the long distance. Of course, we also strongly recommend using high quality HDMI cables. Had tried a different product (wall plates) to hook-up my Cat 6 cabling from my living room TV to my Sky HD box, which I've installed under my stairs. The wall plates worked to a degree but I was getting a lot of interference and white dots all over the screen. The guy installing Sky recommended this product to me and I set it up yesterday. Absolutely no problems at all; interference is all gone and I'm getting a crisp 1080i display at the receiving end. Would recommend this product to anyone looking to do the same.

Not sure if it is just me, but I haven't found it particularly transparent in terms of knowing exactly what i need to buy to make this work - even when asking Neet support who do answer your questions, maybe my questions where too specific...
I hope this helps you...
To connect two TV's, so that you can watch the same thing on both and control the TV from either location, I needed.
2 Neet Cat 5 /6 cables (mine were 30m) (to run between the two extenders from the first TV to the second)
Neet HDMI Extender (receiver and transmitter, does include a power supply which may or may not be required)
Neet HDMI splitter (one HDMI output port on my sky box, you won't need this if running from a computer with multiple ports)
3 Hdmi short cables (one to connect the sky box to the splitter, one for the receiving TV to the HDMI extender and one for the splitter to the TV)
Master blaster IR probes - so you can use the remote to change the channel in either location
Cost just under £150.
It does the job, it will save money in the long term, is hopefully more reliable than a magic eye setup running via a coaxial cable, it is plug and play and works once you have all the bits you need...

Tough body of item, nice weight and feels solid...BUT

Connect more than 2 output devices and it struggles to deal with them and returns a fuzzy/pink picture.
I'm using all NEET products, with brand new high speed HDMI cables which are the same throughout the setup.
Cable is cat5e network cable.
Picture is a little jumpy, a few flickers and specks fire around the screen, not brilliant, but least my security monitors work until i find better quality connectors.

I purchased a Cablesson HDMI X4 splitter as I wanted to watch Sky in four different rooms (lounge, two bedrooms & kitchen). I decided to hide the cables in the walls which meant that I needed two 30 metre, 20 metre & 15 metre cables. As I needed to cover a fair distance, I decided to explore the ethernet solution. After spending best part of 4 hours feeding the cables through various cavities, I found the Neet HDMI converters didn't work. I tested them using ready made ethernet leads but they were clearly defective. I contacted Neet who to be fair were excellent & offered a no quibble refund. However in view of my lack of success using ethernet cabling, I decided to try HDMI instead & Neet sent me two HDMI repeaters in exchange.

I subsequently bought Blue Rigger cables, which have built in repeaters, and used the now defunct ethernet leads to pull the HDMI leads though. I connected everything up including passing one of the four HDMI leads through a Pioneer receiver and everything works flawlessly. I didn't even need to use any HDMI boosters.

I don't want to be negative about Neet because of their excellent service, but in hindsight these converters were rather pointless. I can't comment on their use beyond 30 metres but HDMI leads work just fine.

I have 1080P HD going to my kitchen TV across the outside of my house using Cat6 cables.

My setup: Cable box, tv splitter, Tv in lounge and extender to the kitchen.

I did get a crackling recently after upgrading my cable box. This was fixed using a high quality hdmi cable (HDMI 2.2 4K).

I'm sure this product works fine however it wasn't clear on the product description that two cat5 cables would be required so I couldn't use it for a solution to my problem. Also in the instructions it recommends using direct cables rather than going via sockets which was another reason I couldn't use it this time.
