When not masquerading as a superhero, Neal Zetter is a London-based comedy performance poet, author and entertainer with a huge following in schools. He has been using his interactive, fun and accessible poetry to develop literacy, confidence and communication skills in 3-103 year olds for nearly 30 years. Neal's 'Bees in My Bananas' book won a 2015 Wishing Shelf Book Award and his follow up, 'It's Not Fine to Sit on a Porcupine', was named in BookTrust's top 20 children's poetry favourites. When Neal and illustrator supreme Chris White released their unique comic-style poetry book, 'Here Come the Superheroes (Raps and Rhymes to Save the Galaxy)' in 2017 it was placed in the Reading Agency's top 20 children's poetry books. 2018 saw two issues: Neal and his poetry pal Joshua Seigal collaborated on 'Yuck and Yum (A Feast of Funny Food Poems)' and the 'Superheroes' companion book, 'Invasion of the Supervillains (Raps & Rhymes to Worry the Galaxy)' again illustrated by Chris White. All Neal's books are published by the lovely people at Troika Books.
As well as running fun poetry writing and/or performance workshops in schools he has also starred in adult comedy clubs, pubs, clubs, theatres, libraries, music venues and the Royal Festival Hall. See www.cccpworkshops.co.uk for more about Neal's work including how to book him for a school or library visit.
