The case does appear to be real leather, and if it isn't, it does a good job of impersonating it. It certainly smells like leather. The white stitching is a nice touch, and is neat and tidy. The case itself is very firm, particularly the side which covers the screen, so it will protect against knocks and bumps. It adds very little bulk or weight to the device which is a bonus, and the device slides in, rather than those ridiculous elastic corners which most cases seem to feature, meaning the sides are well protected.
Buttons are easily accessible, as is the USB port, so no need to ever remove the device unless you particularly want to.
The fastening strap seems oddly placed at first, as it clasps around the back of the device. This is actually quite logical, as it would flap over the screen if it was the other way around, so although it seems back to front, it does actually work much better in practice.
The inside of the case has a nice, striped black pattern, along with a pouch for notes, plus a couple of spaces for SD cards, although I'd probably avoid using those, just in case the cards marked the device. This isn't a failing of the case, as the cards would be well covered.. Just my personal paranoia about keeping my Kobo in prime condition!
The reading light is a nice bonus, and has proven to be quite effective. It does take a little adjusting to get it in prime position, as is the case with most lights with 'necks'.Read more ›
Really really impressed for the money.
the same cannot be said of the light, this is of a very poor quality, the switch needs to be operated 2 or three times to get the light on,
verdict, by the cover without the light and get yourself a decent light

The case is fine, the light is not. it is too flimsy and will not stay attached to the case.Published on 28 Jan. 2014 by Gwen Williams
