Natural Colour Egg Crate – Black & White

Easy to cut to size and useful for creating rock and coral shelving, aquascaping, using as a filter bed in sumps, display racks (eg.coral frag tanks).
Being marine grade, this product will not break down in salt water or leach harmful chemicals into the water (unlike cheaper egg crate).

Each piece has a lock design around the edges allowing you to connect the pieces together by simply locking one piece to another.

Great value, and they DO interlock!

These aren't the highest quality mouldings, but are definitely up to the job. I'm using them as the base for a DIY undergravel filter and they're exactly right for that. Stiff enough not to flex under a fair bit of weight, and nice and neat.

In answer to the other comments about these not fitting together, the interlocks are actually tapered, so they're only meant to fit ONE WAY round, and when installed correctly, they lock together pretty firmly, certainly enough for my purposes.

I ordered these to use as a glass cutting mat so that all of the tiny slithers of glass fall between the grid, it’s a much safer method. I bought a pack of 8 pieces, a perfect size to easily transport to my workshop. The other excellent point to make is that the (approx A4 sized) pieces I bought can be easily clipped together to make a larger surface area. Lastly, they are sturdy,, competitively priced and delivered prompt.

As others have mentioned these did not fit together properly, however I bought them already knowing this would be the case. For the price you get a lot for your money, just don't expect it to be the best quality. We used them in a fish tank and have just used white cable ties to connect them.

Be aware that this product does not connect together due to a manufacturing fault (the connectors are too large for the spaces). This is commented on in other reviews ( I now realise a bit late! ) but is important to highlight for future buyers.

Bad points have to be that they don't always fit together easily...
So many I had break because of this so have taken a few stars away.

Bought this to use as a turtle tank cover as well as to create a floating island in marine tank, but it’s way too flimsy. Some bits are broken as well, and some just won’t click together as the holes are too small. I wouldn’t recommend.
