This thirteenth volume of the 'Naruto Shippuden' anime contains a further thirteen episodes (episodes 154 to 166) of this greatly entertaining series. The arc that begins in this volume and continues into the next is probably my favourite from the entire 'Naruto' series. Pain's assault on the Hidden Leaf includes some of the best action the series has produced so far and has some extremely emotional moments as well. Not everything is serious though as Naruto's time at Mount Myoboku also has some nice humour. One of the highlights of this volume for me is the episode 166 that gives Hinata, one of my favourite characters from the series, what is probably her best moment of the series.
The animation of the episodes in this volume is just as good as usual for the series, as is the English dub (the Japanese is included as usual for those who prefer it).
Volume thirteen of 'Naruto Shippuden' is easily worth a full five stars.
After the death of Jiraiya, Naruto goes to the land of toads to train for sage jutsu.
A necessity as no one in the village is strong enough to defeat Pain.
As Naruto is away, the six paths of pain attack Konoha.
This results in the death of a lot of shinobi, among them some of my favourite characters.
Why Kishimoto-san, why do they have to die?
The action is amazing! And there is also the part, where Hinata finally declares her love to Naruto!
Which almost made me cry. The arc goes on in the next volume, and I will order it as soon as it is out on sale.
I would give it 6 stars if I could.
