Najoud Ensaff grew up abroad and moved to the United Kingdom in her teens. Following an honours degree from the University of Southampton and postgraduate degree from the University of Wales, she went on to become a secondary English and drama teacher and head of department for drama and English in two schools before working in an all-through school and as a senior leader in London. She has worked in Education for nearly twenty years and following an MA course in Children's Writing, for which she gained a distinction, she became an educational consultant, working in nursery, infant, primary and secondary schools in the UK and abroad.
Her first publication was in 2004 and she went on to publish a range of educational texts with a number of mainstream publishers. In 2010 her fiction was published for the first time in the 'Undiscovered Voices' Anthology of the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators. Najoud Ensaff continues to work in education and combines this with her writing. She lives in the South East of England.
