Using to extend EE Brightbox 2 ADSL router throughout a three floor Edwardian house with thick walls and high ceilings. Router is near telephone master socket at the front of ground floor and have placed the Netgear Nighthawk AC2200 in a socket on first floor central location. Have configured the Netgear extender to take 5ghz AC signal (fastest) from router and then distrbute both 2.4ghz and 5ghz on all protocols to a variety of old and new devices. Previously, wifi was poor on first and second floor at back of house. Tried extending network over power lines with plug in devices, but internet connection suffered sporadic drop outs every 20 to 30 mins presumably due to power spikes/interference from fridge etc. Also tried super-duper ADSL router ( TP Link Archer 2700) in place of ISP router, some improvement, but not great and drop outs when using a few devices in the same area where router was distant and signal weaker. This Netgear unit however is impressive and has done the job. Strong wifi all over the house now, on multiple devices on both bands and different protocols simultaneously. No noticable lag and full standard fibre speed (38 Mb/s down and 10Mb/s up) through the extender. Highly recommended as a simple (one socket plug in), but powerful wifi extension solution for a big old house.

I bought this to try and help with the shared WiFi on the campsite where we keep our RV. On our plot, the signal from the on-site WiFi was very bad - causing a very slow and patchy WiFi experience.
I placed this repeater where the signal is the strongest and switched on with little real hope it would help much. The setup is simplicity itself and I connected it to the park WiFi and it gave me a solid signal.
One little problem occurred. The Mac address of my tablet was changed by the repeater and I found that I could reach the park WiFi - but not use it. This is because, when we buy time on the WiFi, it allows up to two devices to connect for each "voucher". The WiFi makes a note of the Mac address of each of the devices - so, by adding this device in the connection, the WiFi "saw" two new Mac addresses and thought we were trying to exceed the limit of two devices per voucher. I contacted the WiFi suppliers and explained the situation and they added another two devices for us, allowing us to use the extender. This only happened because we added the extender part way through the lifetime of the voucher (had it been a new voucher, this would not have been a problem).
On the positive side, since installing this, we have enjoyed almost faultless WiFi. Instead of being disconnected every few minutes, this only happens very rarely.
For those on campsite who wish to boost their WiFi, this is perfect.
One small problem we found was that if, for example, I want to download an TV episode from Amazon Prime, then this slows the other connection considerably but, for general use, it's just brilliant.
A couple of little things to bear in mind whilst setting it up.
It creates a new network with the same name as the original - with "-EXT" after it.

I purchased the EX6130 (the one with the mains plug socket built in) to extend the WiFi from my Billion 8900ac router. Testing my internet speed with speedtest.net right beside the router gives me a download speed of 70Mbps, testing it at the other end of the house using the Netgear to extend the 5Ghz WiFi network gives me 75Mbps! Additionally, the 5Ghz WiFi on the Billion for some reason causes noticeable battery drain on my phone, but when connected to the Netgear the battery drain is a normal 1-2% per hour. The signal is so strong on this thing, that I'm actually just leaving my phone connected to it throughout the house, even when sat beside the router. I get a signal on the 5Ghz network right out onto the street at the end of our driveway. The extra benefit of a wired ethernet port allowed me to hardwire my Squeezebox, which means I can finally shut down my old 'G' wireless network.

Having read up on extenders, I was expecting to see a speed drop-off when using one, but having used the EX6130 for a week to extend my 5Ghz network, I can see no impact on upload or download speeds, just a slight increase in ping of about 8ms (not noticeable at all in normal use). I managed to set this up manually (without WPS) in about 10mins, and I have MAC filtering enabled on my router (which complicates things a little, but is easily figured out by copying the virtual MAC addresses from the Netgear - just read the manual!). All-in-all, highly recommended. This is my first Netgear product, and I will certainly be looking at them again when next changing my router.

I ordered this because I already had a smaller unit fitted upstairs in the loft to relay the signal to a bedroom that had rubbish signal. But since having a conservatory put on the front of the house the area was lovely to sit in but seemed to be a WiFi free zone getting one "pip" of signal on a good day. So ordered this marvellous little unit (with no external aerials to knock) it arrived and while waiting for the kettle to boil followed the instructions and set it up next to the sky router, the instructions explained that the easy way was using the WPS buttons and sure enough this was the case. I was a little apprehensive when moving it down stairs to the lounge but after waiting around two minuets the unit came to life and as if by magic we now have almost full signal. Well worth the money and only took around 10 min's in total to "set-up".
