Another great NCIS series.I thought that I may have been disappointed with the departure of Ziva, however the way the writers introduced Ellie Bishop was inspired looking forward to new adventures with the Team.

I don't expect the official UK release to come before around August, but if you love NCIS and can neither watch Season 11 on TV or a Region 1 player, buy now.

You'll only see Cote de Pablo in the second Episode, and as her decision to leave was 'sudden' there had to be a lot of re-writing of Episodes featuring her.

To be honest, as long as Pauley Perrette and the rest stay you won't really miss her - in a very short time.

Regardless of whether some plots are ONLY good rather than excellent, we watch because we love the actors and the way they interact so brilliantly, so, if like me, you have all of the previous Seasons, you won't be disappointed (and Seasons 1-8 can be bought for slightly more than this one Season).

I could be wrong but I think de Pablo's unexpected departure did affect at least some of the cast more than others, with just a detectable loss of 'sparkle' in the early Episodes, but that could also be attributed to having to cope with the changes in script required.

We missed Sasha Alexander when she left, but coped, and even if it's decided de Pablo's replacement doesn't 'fit', the producers will find someone who will.

And the only way we were going to see Tony and Ziva finally admit their feelings for one another was by de Pablo leaving...

EDIT
Liking Bishop, but when watching Crescent Moon Episodes it seemed blatantly apparent these were used as pilots for yet another spin-off: NCIS: New Orleans starring Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap).

Liked but didn't love NCIS: Los Angeles, and have a feeling this may prove a spin-off too far.

Oh well, roll on Season 12 of the best...

This dvd IS from the USA. I do have a region free dvd player. (Meaning I can play any dvd, from anywhere in the world) I always read the full item description before I but any item. ( I advise everyone to do the same) There is no need to write a bad review just because you made the mistake of getting a dvd that will not play in your dvd player.

Not sure why but the picture quality is not as good as the previous 10 series that I have. The sound is very slightly out of sync as well. It's still watchable, I was just expecting the same quality as the others.

First for those who are worried about this being a dutch import don't be. I don't know if the people who got the Zone one copies was a mistake they corrected, but the one I received was zone 2. Buying dutch imports from the Netherlands should always be ok as they are in the same zone as the uk. sometimes you may have to turn the subtitles off, but this is really easy to do. The good news about this set is that you don't have to. Click play and your presented straight away with a language menu, just choose English and everything will be as if you have an english copy. In fact with this particular title I think the same disks are probably in both the english and dutch sets and only the packaging is different.

As for the program, this is now season 11 so if you like any of the other 10 then your not going to be disappointed. The big change this season is a new leading lady. Having watched the entire season I think she's going to fit in perfectly. The change of character hasn't harmed the show at all.

Do not read if you have not watched the first two episodes. Great start to the season but I am absolutely gutted that after all this time, Tony does not get his heart's desire. That almost feels like I have been robbed as a viewer as I have desperately wanted to see this storyline blossom and now in a rather short space of time that has been blown out of the water. Still great but hence a 4 star not five. We need happy ever afters occasionally......

I'm a long-time fan of NCIS and found Season 10 to be one of the best of whole series. But season 11 ... ?? Mmmm, for me it seems to show a distinct dip and I've been trying to work out why it had that effect on me.

OK - so the superb character of Ziva left and drafted storyline(s) had to be revised. To some extent, this resulted in what Gary Glasberg referred to as the decision to 'rotate' different characters before that gap in the team was eventually filled by Eleanor Bishop. To me, as I worked through the series, these characters seemed almost like trial runs or screen trials. I doubt that they were, but that's the impression. Setting aside the introduction of Marina as the new Mossad director and Leslie Hope as Sarah Porter, the new SecNav, we encounter several new (or revisited) female leads who are all interesting in their different ways. For instance - Diane Neal seen once again as CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin (and possible romantic 'partner' for Gibbs alongside Hollis Mann who also makes a re-appearance); Zoe McLellan as NCIS Special Agent Meredith Brod who definitely has a darker side and a powerful personailty; Margo Harshman as McGee's new and apparently longterm romantic partner, Delilah Fielding. Even before she becomes confined to a wheelchair, she is shown to have layers of interest as a lead character and in some ways is reminiscent of Kate from Seasons 1 and 2. Even Amanda ('The Admiral's daughter') proves to have a deeper, surprising side to her apparently scatty personality when she's revealed as an undercover agent for another agency.

In short - a plethora of new or returning female characters who all offer consider interest and potential as lead roles.
