N.S Blackman is a London-based writer, illustrator and dad of two.
He is a popular visitor to libraries, museums and primary schools across the UK - and has even toured elementary schools in Los Angeles. He was very excited to be part of the official celebrations at the Natural History Museum in London to mark the beginning of the iconic Dippy the Diplodocus' tour to museums around the UK. Nigel hosted an illustration workshop on drawing dinosaurs, for the launch of the tour, which was held at the museum. His Secret Dinosaur books have been used by Hodder Education - as an example of compelling story telling and they are a hit with teachers, librarians, parents and children because they encourage children to read for pleasure.
Freedom for Bron - Nigel's latest book - is a gripping adventure set in Anglo-Saxon times. It was shortlisted for the 2017 James Reckitt Hull Children's Book Award. Freedom for Bron is popular with teachers who are covering the Saxons as KS2.
