Format: Kindle Edition
A worthwhile read, mostly for the summaries of various heroes' tales. I was disappointed that the Gilgamesh item was so short.

On the whole this was an informative read though the analysis was more of a love letter to Freud than an investigation into the roots and routes of hero narratives.

I will continue to buy these snippets from 19th / 20th century studies of ancient wors: they give insights to the investigative mindsets of a hundred years ago whilst also revealing some of the age-old tales less well known today.

My rating cannot be too high because of several disturbing printing mistakes.
On the whole the quality of the book is fine and the text is intriguing to dig out what is a hero and why they are so important in our society.
The low price of the edition is a turn on for the purchase.
