Looking at the book cover you assume that it is for adult readers but the language, pace and lack of mature storyline leads me to believe that it is far better suited to YA. Bearing in mind that the lead female is only 19yrs old.
Charlotte goes from one bad situation to another without consequence and always seems to have someone else to pick up the pieces. She constantly fights being labelled a "whore" and yet falls into bed with every man and his dog and then moans about it and blames her partners in crime for them leading her on!
I wanted to shake her and scream Oh grow up.
Sorry I would have given this a wide birth if I'd have reaslised how poor it was going to be.

Big issues with the writing style, too. The author frequently uses combinations of words (like "beautiful" and "perfect") only to use them again in the same configuration a paragraph or two later. The biggest problem is the (SPOILER) part toward the end where Charlotte obsesses about having accidentally had sex with Alexander on her first night in the mansion. Um, I actually reread this crushing bore of a novel just to see how I could have missed that rather major plot point, and guess what, it's not there. Which is especially surprising given the excruciating detail with which the author describes every other sexual or sort-of-sexual encounter Charlotte has. Oh, and please find a synonym for "moan."
I realize I got this book for free on Kindle, but I kind of think it was overpriced at that amount.
Alexander.. WHAT A GROUCH .. but without his bipolar moodswings, I mean, what would this push pull love story even be? Yes, he was so blindly stubborn it hurt, yet he was clearly SHOWING his feelings! I just wanted him to admit his heart from the beginning. Of coarse, we never get what we want!!!
Miss Charlotte had SUCH real emotion. I felt every bit of Love, Jealousy, and lust she felt everytime she felt it. When she cried, laughed, ...... Rushed poor dainty Marie <--a pure bitch that one) ! Miss Charlotte appeared to be a slut, but really only a majorly sexy tease!
I was also taken aback by Adalric.. Boy boy I just want to eat him up!! He just seems like every girls gay best friend.. Except the gay best friend you make out with from the time you brush your teeth in the morning until he takes you to heaven every night ;) He is, by far, one of the most intriguing characters!
If you love Vampire Romances.... you will love this Vampire Romance .. with a Twist :)
