The thing that excited me the most was that this story doesn’t really center around just one person, it involves every character, and they all have pivotal roles to play. Simone is a very special girl with a very important role in life, which takes her awhile to adjust to, but has the support and protection of her friends the whole way. Let’s just say there’s a higher calling beckoning to her…
Leah and Liam are Simone’s best friends, and have her back through what can only be described as hell on earth. This poor girl goes through heartache beyond limits, and just when you think it’s over, another bomb goes off! Then Shamar and Lucas enter the picture, which is a whole lot of sexy hotness, and happens to start an epic fight between good and evil. One who surrounds her with the feeling of calming peace and the other who brings about the feeling of uncontrollable lust and darkness. This confuses her more than ever, and puts her in a very vulnerable spot. Forcing her to literally make life and death decisions for not only her, but also everyone she loves.
Absolute page-turner for me, and I’m left thinking what can happen next, if anything? Ker made me a believer in the paranormal, and I’ll definitely be on the look out for more amazing stories!

I dove into this book with a certain amount of trepidation purely because paranormal has never called my attention. To say I was intrigued from the first line would be an understatement. It's nothing like the author's previous books but the style and incredible imagination she has used in a complex storyline is far from confusing and will not let readers down who like this type of book.
The characters' personalities are unravelled at a steady pace and we get to know them one by one without becoming unduly overwhelmed. The protagonist, Simone, has been brought up in loving surroundings and is extremely responsible for her years. Even though her mum's pregnancy worries her no-end, she is excited about having a new sibling in her life. Her best friend, Leah, who I might add, is there for her through thick and thin and just adorable, wants Simone to let her hair down but that unknown something is holding her back. Her stance not only frustrates her part-time boyfriend, Jacob, but is also badly interpreted by Amanda, the school bully! Liam's over protectiveness of Simone causes certain issues throughout the story which only adds to the intrigue. Even though Simone is about to start a new chapter--college, her world is about to change drastically where her destiny is mapped out by uncontrollable forces. Here enters the love of her life, Shamar.
Shamar is the soul keeper. He'll pull her very existence apart but as they have such strong feelings for each other and their mutual attraction is undeniable, will they be able to survive so many obstacles paving the way for happiness!Read more ›
I love romance, I love paranormal and I LOVE Ker Dukey so for me this book was a winner before I began and had me at the blurb!! (not to mention the cover!). I began this book with high hopes and as usual Ker doesn't disappoint but then I have found she very, very rarely does, if ever. I loved everything about this book and the story that unfolded on the pages.
Shamar and Simone draw you in from the very first pages and their story will keep you captivated til the very end. This is a love story with so much happening throughout with the main characters and others surrounding them and with all that's going on you never struggle to keep pace with the story. Its not just Shamar and Simone that you fall in love with but also Liam and Leah and a few others, who if you want to meet you will have to the read the book haha. Another thing that Ker does and does very well I might add is hot men (anyone who is familiar with work will agree I'm sure), boy are there some in here!!
So in conclusion. this is an amazing, AMAZING story about love and the journey taken to find it. What people will do to protect it when they have found love and how hard they will work to keep it. A story that keeps giving at every opportunity and constantly keeps you guessing and wanting, NO needing to know what happens next and never letting you down or disappoints. Oh and did I mention hot men... well hot angels *winks*

This book was a little confusing for me, so many names and characthers changing. I loved Shamar and how he felt for Simone, and Lucas was deliciously dark. Read morePublished on 21 Feb. 2015 by Vampy

Very easy book to read though a bit too religious for my taste. Different characters keep popping without any explanation but still good, flowing storyline.Published on 11 Dec. 2014 by Shad
