An entertaining and often very funny read. Williams has a naturally comic touch ... [and there] are abundant laughs that will strike a chord with anyone with a disabled child or sibling (Daily Mail)
If you read one book this year, make it this one ... I haven't enjoyed reading a book this much in a very long time, if ever! (Your Autism Magazine)
[My Son's Not Rainman] isn't an attempt to teach readers about autism and it doesn't lecture. It's simply a heartfelt account of what it means to love a child on the spectrum ... it's inspiring, insightful and rib-tickling in equal measures (AuKids Magazine)
Following the success of the blog of the same name, John talks not just about the difficulties of having a child who is considered 'different' but also the joy of living with someone who looks at the world in a unique way.See all Product description

This is not a book about autism, or mental health, those are merely melodies that play throughout. This is a book about fathers and sons, about family life and what gives it meaning, about getting to know and accept each other, and most brightly of all it is about love.
For me the message that the books gives us, is that we have to celebrate what 'special needs' can do what they can't do !!!
Recommended reading for everyone, and if people ask me what my working day is like I'm going to tell them to read this book, and then they can understand why I do what I do and why I love doing it.
John, I'm expecting the sequel once The Boy has finished Secondary School !
