Product description

Product Description

My Best Regards is a new album of 13 songs. The songs cover a diverse range of subjects & emotions. There are songs about the personal - set at birthday parties, bus stops & in relationships, & songs about the wider world - inspired by Sidmouth Festival, royal babies, refugees & migrants, & a visit to Babbacombe Model Village. The album features pianist Jenny Carr & bassist John Forrester, who worked together on 2013’s Gentle Men, & Robb’s son Arvin on drums & percussion. The album also contains different versions of 3 of the songs – 2 recorded with Brighton’s Hullabaloo Quire, & one song, When the Tide Comes in, recorded with the Palestinian singer Reem Kelani.

Robb seems to go from strength to strength - this is a brilliant album, and I enjoyed it very much! (And still do.)

This is right up there with Robb's best albums. Very good mix of political and personal, all killer, no filler as usual. Hollingdean, Sidmouth and Babbacombe are all especially lovely songs, and The Future Starts Here is yet another absolute belter. Great to hear Arvin "Stardust?" Johnson really shine too.
