Packed full of hilarious school boy errors and down right ridiculous guesses made by pupils who weren't thinking straight or plainly didn't know the answers. It brings about a chuckle from every page.

I suggest potential purchasers 'Look Inside' first and not rely on glowing reviews - I didn't look and was disapponted to find, despite one review saying the book was 'packed full', that the font is so large there are only 2 or 3 examples on each page - not my idea of 'packed full', more like padded out. If i'd looked inside rather than relying on the 'packed full' description, I wouldn't have bought it.

These are not only funny, but some of them are clever too. It really highlights the intelligence some of the kids have, as well as accidental mispellings which make you laugh and feel sorry for the child who wrote them. And the stupidity which will also give you a good chuckle

Some of the stuff in here are amusing but i dont think its the kind of *laugh out loud* kind of humour. Overall i was disappointed with this book which is a shame really. However, the rest of their books are hilarious!

I did not get my hopes up to soon for this book because many other books like this were terrible but this was brilliant full of funny laughs and hilarious houlers however if you are reading this to anyone young stop before the last section. Because It contains some less appropriate stuff for them to be reading.

This was purchased for me for Xmas by a teacher. It's funny. It's a frivolous bit of frippery with some very very funny comments from the wonderously confused minds of the school children of the UK. The print is big and some sections seem lightweight... but what does it matter, it's a great additon to my toilet book shelf. Ideal stocking filler and cheap thinking of you style gift!

Someone bought this as a present for me because I'm a teacher. It was a poor choice. The 'quotes' just don't ring true. Too many are too similar and just don't sound like the things you hear as a teacher. Probably some are original and the rest were easy to make up. You do hear 'howlers' all the time in the classroom and at times it is hard to keep a straight face so it's a shame McGreevy didn't write enough genuine ones down at the time.

Plus McGreevy strikes me as being the kind of teacher who felt it was his job to impart knowledge to students who should lap it up unquestioningly. I wonder if those who didn't got laughed at and ridiculed? In other words, I suspect the classroom was all about him and his knowledge; not the passions and interests of the students. Fortunately education has for the most part moved out of the Dark Ages. Today teachers recognise the need to teach skills and guide children sympathetically through their inquiries of the world around them; not laugh when they don't know everything instantly.
