Format: Audio CD
This cd I must say is one of the very best I have heard so far actually apart from my other cds recorded on Balinese gamelan gong kebyar music. The recording is very good with sharp crisp and clear quality of music without any blurring or bad sounds coming from anywhere. I found it very wonderful to hear music from a very well know village like Sebatu which is famous for it's dances and music. It's a very renowned village all over Bali for this tradition and I believe that it was fair that the village had a chance to have their own music genre recorded.
I enjoyed most of the tracks but there was a rare one called Nandir which was a traditional Balinese dance that has disappeared from the rest of Bali. Only Sebatu keeps this tradition going with their wonderful music too. I find it interesting to hear the longest version of the Legong Kraton which is track five to have it's own theme or musical version to it. I know generally speaking most Legong Kraton music are usually like 19-25 minutes long but this might be the extended version.
Apart from wonderful music there is also information provided regarding the dances and also photos of the types of dances performed or featured in this recording. This is an extra bonus too. Great cd to have or must have from the Island of The Gods.
