a great new album for this band

This album was my top pick for 2015. I've been a New Order since they first merged out of the ashes of Joy Division. I admit to not being a big Joy Division fan and still am not, even though I do like their music. But from albums like "Low Life" and "Brotherhood" and "Technique", their sound and creativity have always been a large part of my music catalog. This is the first album with Tom Chapman, who replaced Peter Hook on bass. Tom does a great job of making this sound his own, while at the same time, finding a way to use Peter's influence and style to make this album appeal to long time fans like myself. A must listen and one that any New Order fan should enjoy, even if it takes a few listens to catch on.

New Order is just an amazing band. True creative musicians and this album takes you back to the time when music was a craft and not a publicity creation. Wish there was any place left to give them airplay.

New Order is back in a big way with Music Complete. Gone is long time member Peter Hook, but the remaining members have moved forward and added Tom Chapman (bass guitar) and Phil Cunningham (guitars and synths) to the mix. This line up pretty much evolved and decided to record an album after noticing how the crowds reacted to the dance numbers of New Order's past. In effect, the album is loaded with synths, drum grooves and effects that reflect New Order's past but add modern touches of adventure and experimentation that New Order was noted for in the' 80s. Restless was the first release from this album and sounds like something that could have appeared on any of the previous 3 albums. Fortunately, the second song, Singularity, shows a clear new direction. The song contains overtones of Joy Division in the beginning then meshes into the modern New Order to create something that contains both their past and present. Plastic is their modern day Blue Monday and Tutti Frutti contains a very catchy chorus section that works well with the various styles used in the song. The only thing I don't like about this song is the title. Tom Chapman really shines on the bass guitar on People on the High Line. His bass grooves are a clear indication that New Order is indeed moving forward whether we like it or not. The song is like something we might hear on Sirius XMs Saturday Night Safety Dance. Stray Dog is flat out awesome. The spoken poetry of Iggy Pop behind another song that contains Joy Division overtones, mixed with modern electronica, works well in a sinister way. Academic, Unlearn This Hatred, and the Game contain classic elements of New Order along with a few modern touches. Nothing But a Fool is the final song that touches on New Order's dark connection to Joy Division but brightens up in a hopeful way midway through the song to offer the listener a bit of advice. Superheated, the last song on the album, is a catchy, pop type song that may find its way to Sirius XMs Alt.Nation. Music Complete is New Order giving us touches of their past and freshening their sound by embracing the blue print they gave the world all those years ago.
Fresh 80's sound, flawless!

Perfect from start to finish, I wish to personally thank the members of New Order for making such an incredible album that makes me feel like a teenager again! My personal favorite is 'Singularity'

Not as good as their earlier stuff but better than they should be doing at this age.
