Wow I downloaded this one for free just because it was...and I am so pleased i did because it is full of information about food and the way the body works - and although I want to build my muscle up I didn't really have a lot of technical know how. There are several things I love about this book:-

1) It doesn't rely on weird ingredients - all of the recipes use ingredients which are present in most kitchens. So you can crack on pretty much straight away and don't end up with packets of stuff you bought for one recipe weeks ago.
2) The dishes all taste great! I've had the book 2 months now and have made numerous meals from the recipes and I am yet to be disappointed. This mornings example was French Muscle Toast!
3) Mike is available to answer any queries - and it's not an empty promise. I've asked two seperate questions and both were answered within 24 hours.
4) Each dish has it macro's broken down so you can easily work out where it fits into your targets.

Overall, it's well laid out, simple to follow (even for a relative novice in the kitchen) and produces great meals that even your other half won't mind sharing.

The only thing I could suggest to enhance the book would be to include pictures along with each dish. This would help novices like myself to ensure what is produced is exactly as Mike had intended! That aside, the book is excellent and superb value.

First off, if anyone understands the quote, i love you. On with the review, this is absoloutely fantastic. The melas all taste good and are great as far as macronutrient nutrition goes.
i'd recommend adding you're own veg to these meals if you want a truly balanced and healthy diet, but this is a recipe book, not a dietician.
Overall, great - good meals, easy to use even off a small iPhone screen, would recommend.

It's an informative book, but only if you're not real experienced in nutrition. I found the majority of the included recipes to be ones I've used or still use. It was free when I "bought" it. I would like to give it more than 3 stars, but for me, it just didn't open any new doors. If you're just starting out though, I would highly recommend the book. Like I said, I have been using some of the recipes for years and it would help most beginners.

Delivered in the time and in the condition stated. This book was long on explanation, which in itself was good but, was very short on recipes in comparison. In my opinion, it should have had far more recipes to balance out the amount of narrative that proceeds them. Its almost as if the descriptive content was written and then the realization that there were meant to be some recipes so a handful were squeezed in to fulfil the brief.

One of the best recipe books I've read in a long time, sure I don't eat fish at all, but mostly the meals are meat, there's a lot of chicken. It has nutritional facts about al the meals and an interesting few pages about nutrition at the beginning. All of the meals I've tried have been absolutely fantastic, and if your doing a Beachbody program (such as Insanity), it's nice to switch the meals up. Anyway, will definitely purchase Michael Matthews other recipe books. Honestly this book is great, I'd happily pay money for it. Thanks for reading.

Just buy Mike Matthews 'The Shredded Chef' book; but this can give you a little 'taster' (see what I did there?) of the amazing recipes and well-thought material he has put together in The Shredded Chef.

I got this as a free kindle book, as my husband is going to Everest base camp in a few months and I wanted to find some nice recipies for him - this helped explain about nutrition and provided easy recipies that I can make quickly - perfect! It aslo didnt feature american-only products which i find in most cookbooks (so even better!!) After reading I immediately ordered the larger cookbook so I have a bit more variety when cooking, but I am really pleased. Also most of the recipies are under the 400 calorie mark so can be used by those following the 400 calaorie diet too. I can happily recommend this book to everyone!
