Review

It is a comprehensive volume, but no mere dictionary in the commonly understood sense of that word... The work ought to grace the shelves of every legal practitioner, but is by no means confined in its scope to lawyers" The Irish Times, review of previous edition. This was the first, and remains the best, dictionary of Irish law. I am a professional (Certified/Sworn) Translator and I cannot recall many dictionaries as clear as this one, even for readers unfamiliar with the intricacies of legal language. An excellent work and a very useful tool. Manages to make legalese crystal clear, which is a feat in itself.
I must translate a longish (31-page) Irish legal document, and this dictionary is going to save me at least two days' work. Highly recommended.
