This is the first in a new series from Sam Cheever, and it shows great potential for further books in the series. The characters are well developed and their relationships are believable, I particularly like the humorous dialogue between Blaise and her friends, but particularly between her and her fiance Dolfe.
The plot is quite involved and has lots of red herrings thrown in to keep the culprit hidden until the big reveal at the end.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book and have voluntarily written this review.

Awesome. Non-stop action, really fast paced mystery. Is the micro-brewery business worth killing for? Some people think so. The characters are vivid and with a plot with more twists and turns then a snarl of wool this will keep your attention from start to finish. Plus the best thing is that the killer is someone I hadn't even considered.
I got a free copy of the book for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than a new Sam Cheever book? A new Sam Cheever series !!! 1 July 2017
By Helen Callahan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
What is more exciting than a new Sam Cheever book ?? A New Series by Sam Cheever !!! Especially one that has characters we already hold dear !!! Murderous Craft is book 1 in SC's new Gainfully Employed series. It is an off shoot of her Honeybun series. Blaise Runa and her soon to be hubby Dolfe Honeybun find out how simple micro brewing just might not be. Dolfe, former cop now PI, is teaching and partnering up his PI profession with his 'honeybun'. Former party girl, job jumping, Blaise, may have found her employment 'calling'. Lots of suspencful action and mayhem. The pages turn quickly with enjoyment, smartass(ness), unpredictability and SC romance. Set time aside, this is a book to enjoy without interruptions. And if you haven't already done so, this book will have you reaching for more Sam Cheever reads !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Start to a New Series!! 15 July 2017
By Einsam - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Blaise Runa works at Tyrese's Bar, a popular watering hole. Her boyfriend, Dolfe Honeybun, is a private investigator who occasionally assists the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. While working at the bar, Blaise gets into an argument with an old high school rival, Deirdre Masterson, who claims Blaise tried to steal her boyfriend fifteen years earlier. Deirdre is in the bar to meet Roger White, but can't seem to find him.

The police get involved when Roger's body is found in the men's room. It appears that he was poisoned. Roger worked as an Analyst for a testing lab used by many of the local microbreweries. Dolfe has agreed to assist Detective Muldane with the investigation. Early in the investigation, Dolfe and Blaise witness an attempt on Deirdre's life.

Who poisoned Roger White? Why was he killed? Who tried to kill Deirdre and why? Can Dolfe, Blaise, and Detective Muldane unravel the twisted mess and discover the killer before more people die?

This is a very fast-paced book with plenty of twists and turns to keep you involved. It also makes it difficult to put down. The characters are well developed and realistic with great humor. It sometimes goes a little heavy on the romance, but it does not detract from the mystery or side-track the story in any way.

I received a copy of this book from the author, but the review is entirely my own.

I am definitely looking forward to more books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this Book and ADORE Dolfe and Blaise 2 July 2017
By Barbara - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
There is nothing like a Sam Cheever, Honeybun, whodunit. This is the start of what I truly expect to be another awesome series. Ms. Cheever’s style shines through in this book. The book is very well written. It’s funny, flirty, sexy and suspenseful and it has characters you can’t help but love and connect with.

If you have kept up with the Honeybun Series, you have previously met Dolfe Honeybun, the tall, sexy PI and his fiance, the sexy, flirty Blaise Runa. Blaise works at a local bar. When a dead body is found in the men’s bathroom of the bar she works, Blaise can’t help herself and get involved, well her and Dolfe of course. These two are a hoot as they set out to find out exactly whodunit, even when the danger starts to close in, they stay strong together with their wickedly funny humor and their flirty banter.

2 Thumbs up for this exciting storyline and a book you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend reading Murderous Craft and I am anxiously waiting for book 2 in the Gainfully Employed Mystery Series
5.0 out of 5 stars Oh, I love those Honeybuns! 24 July 2017

Murderous Craft - Hilarious as the story develops. A well written suspense filled with the lovable, but capable Honeybun family and their cohorts. The believable characters, along with the mostly realistic dialogue and the intriguing, twisting plot keep the reader involved throughout the story.
This book has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read; entertaining on its own. Minor editing needed, although the editing is better on this book. I contacted the author after reading the first book: A Honeybun and Coffee.

A Honeybun and Coffee - Hilarious! A well written, suspense filled with a bunch of believable characters, mostly realistic dialogue and an adorable dog. The cast keeps getting bigger, adding to the fun and excitement. This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. This book reminds me of Stephanie Plum, but with more Rangers and Morellis. Angie isn't so prone to bad things happenin' to her, well at least, her car isn't bombed.

This book has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read; entertaining on its own. I was surprised and happy to find a lack of profanity. There was a long sex scene. Some of the motorcycle and fight scenes aren't realistic, but it's still a fun read. Minor editing needed.

Dose Vidanya - Hilarious as the story develops. What! I almost lost interest when the ladies started trying to solve the death before calling the police, but I read more and I'm glad I did. The story did get better and the ladies weren't stupid, less the first chapter. A well written suspense laced with humor, developed characters and a twisty plot. This book has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read; entertaining on its own. Minor editing needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loves those Honeybuns! 1 July 2017
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was given this book and am so very pleased to review it. I have loved every Honeybun and their honey. This book didn't disappoint. I actually couldn't put it down and finished in a few hours. This book is about Dolfe and Blaise. They get drawn into a murder mystery and are asked by Brita (love that she's in this too) to help investigate. Love the interaction between Blaise and Dolfe. They are the best couple and always seem to find the happy with each other amidst the crazy all around them. The mystery was good and had me puzzled until right at the end. Figured out part but not all so kodos to Sam. I normally figure out the mysteries in books. All in all, a very good way to spend my afternoon.
