My wife hated it. She found it really hard to use, and loads of hassle to put up and down, and she couldn't hop over it.
Since im writing the review..im going to give it 5 starts, as it works exactly as i expected it to in my mind.
What is is NOT:
Its not a gate.
It wont work on funny angles very well (if at all)
It wont open and close and still stay there. Its either up in place or down on the floor (or in your hand).
Its not attached to the walls by any screws (a plus as it means no screw damage to stuff) - but the pressure fit might cause the item to pull off paint off walls.
It's not for everyone - if you or your family memebers are at all impatient, move on swiftly.
What it is:
First and foremost, its a barrier. Not a gate, not a doorway. Plain and simple, it works the same way nailing a piece of wood, the size of the lower part of your door, across the doorway would be.
It's really soft - the central part made of mesh wont hurt anything, although there is of course the plastic on the top, botttom and sides.
It is portable - folds down to the size of a quiver (...like for arrows...)..well i can't think of anything else at the moment that fits the size, so that'll have to do!
Its flexible in size, so can extend and shrink to fit width ways. There is a bit of fiddling you have to do with the knobs at each end to get a decent fit, but once you've got the right size for the doorway you need to block, it'll stay that way unless you fiddle with it some more.Read more ›
We use it to stop are one year old escaping into the garden and take it on travels when visiting family, very light and very portable, and it does exactly what it is designed for.
This guard locks onto each side of the door frame with little turnable locks, the wall cups, which can be adjusted for bigger or smaller doors.
You had the little gap at the bottom but that is the same as the metal gates, but without all the parts screwed to the wall. It is also easy to store away and can be taken on holiday as it comes with a carry bag.
My daughter would push herself into it on a regular basis to get out but it was very secure and never moved during that time. When she did fall on it, the bars are slightly padded and the mesh would stop her from hurting herself.
All in all this is one of the better removable guards and would recommend if looking for a good temporary one.
I'm really impressed with the folding mechanism, and setting it up in the door takes a little bit of figuring out... but once a I looked at the instructions and realised where the size release was I was away. Suddenly this fit perfectly into the door... and I worked out that it's on a ratchet, so once you are in the smaller size you can just pull the sides out and it'll stick. I spent about 5 minutes trying to get the bottom bars the right size whilst holding it awkwardly.
Now I've realised it's really quick to just snap it in the smallest position, put it in a door frame, pull the bottom out, twist the plunger a little to hold it tight then do the same for the top. So simple!
Once you've got it the right size obviously if you open it the whole thing comes out. but it only takes a second to put it back in situ.
I would definately recommend this.

I got this to use at home and for travel. It packs up well but it doesn't fit all openings and so meant we didn't actually use it on travel because it was too small to fit. Read morePublished 1 month ago by CAROLYN ROBINSON
Does the job. Obviously not as easy to use as a gate but as a temporary barrier for travelling and holidays it works well.Published 1 month ago by RichieA
Not the best fitting stair gate and I certainly wouldn't trust it at the top of the stairs.
