My wife is a vegetarian,(shudder!),and has a habit of cremating meat before she serves it to make sure it's cooked. She has actually thrown away food that I've cooked because she says it's not cooked properly. I thought the thermometer would save on arguments and I'd have an easier life.
I tested it by measuring the temperature of boiling water and it
was accurate to within one degree.
Using this regularly it is a bit of an education as to how reheating instructions are sometimes a rather poor guide! After following exactly the instructions on a lasagne I found that the temperature at the centre of the meal was unsafe - by quite a large margin.
I now use this thermometer every time and it is very reassuring. A cheap way to avoid a painful episode

Broke within a few uses - you obviously need to wash it after each use and when washing and drying the probe it comes out from the rest of the device too easily and breaks.Published 18 days ago by Matt J
This temp prob works ok but it takes it so long to get to the final reading it counts up in half a degree at a time I'm disappointed with it.Published 4 months ago by David M.
