I used this with a Raspberry Pi Zero. Good price (less than the Pi!) and it does the job.
It's small too, which suits the Pi0.
It plugs into the micro USB connector on the Pi0 and you can power everything by connecting your adapter to the micro USB input of the hub. That leaves three standard USB A sockets for devices (e.g. Keyboard, mouse and WiFi).
Alternatively you can put power in through the Pi0 PWR micro USB
The Pi is powered through the hub with the switch in either position ("OTG" or "Charge").
The switch signals the host OTG port to operate in charger mode or not. Power on on all the USB connectors is commoned to power into micro USB will supply devices in the standard USB A sockets. In common with many cheap USB hubs there is no power management or protection of supply to USB sockets.
