The first two books in the series - The Breadwinner and Parvana's Journey feature Parvana herself, whereas Mud City is based on Shauzia - a friend of Parvana.
The book opens with Shauzia living in a refugee camp in Pakistan, but she is not happy, she has spent a long time pretending to be a boy and making her own lving - she finds it difficult to adapt to being a female again and being expected to toe the line. The book follows her journey once she leaves the camp, just her and her dog Jasper. There are some heartbreaking scenes, the hardships and injustices experienced by the Afghan people is portrayed very well.
Shauzia is a real character, gutsy and determined. Going with her on her journey, the reader is filled with hope and sometimes despair.
I'd recommend this series to everyone, young or old.
Mud City is a great little read for young and old giving the reader a glimpse of the hardship and heartache endured by these children in war stricken Afganistan. The story enfolds relaying the hardship and daily endurances by little Shauzia. One couldn't help by admire and grow to love her brave, feisty little self.
The story ended abruptly but that's probably because I was left hungry wanting to know more about Shauzia and her adventures oh and if she ever got to the sea! Well Deborah Ellis??

The book Mud City book was published in 2003. It was written by Deborah Ellis. It is the sequel to the bestselling the Breadwinner and Parvana's Journey.
The reason Shauza wants to go away from the refugee camp because the Taliban were looking for her everywhere and wants her to be killed.
The book of `'Mud City'' the reason I like it because it is a very sad story of a girl who lost and wandering far from her home and family because of the Taliban were looking for her.
Overall: The book was very nice and very good story Witten by Deborah Ellis the credit I will give 10 out of 10
