Muc-Off Über Wax - Car Wax/Polish Kit
Price:£71.76+ Free shipping with Amazon Prime

on 6 July 2015
As a recent convert to the art of actually washing your own car, this was a bit of a dive into the unknown for me. At the RRP it's unbelievably expensive; on a Daily Deal from Amazon, marginally more believably expensive. I've used a couple of polishes, and found them pretty hard going to polish out, but this stuff was an absolute doddle to get a marvellous shine from. The supplied foam applicator, a small circular thing, is excellent, allowing a nice even coating either rubbed on or applied in Muc Offs recommended straight lines. The real magic comes when you get down to polishing - using the very nice quality microfibre cloth, it just wipes off leaving an almost wet look shine. Very little elbow grease is required. Even areas where I thought I'd put the wax on a bit heavy polished out with a light wipe of the microfibre. After a week and some very heavy rain, my car still has a showroom shine.
Downsides - other than the price obviously - Packaging. It's laughably, ostentatiously excessive. I'm pretty sure they could take £20 off the price by losing the box and putting the wax in a more modest container, rather than the thick clear acrylic jar. I'm all for some luxury, and it's probably nice if you receive it as a gift, but really... Other than that, I can't recommend this stuff highly enough. It's supplied in the excessive box, in an excessive thick clear acrylic jar, in a very nice drawstring bag. Also included is one circular foam applicator, a really nice, thick microfibre cloth, and a little spoon to get the last dregs of the precious (pink and pleasant smelling) wax out.

Having been an avid Auto Glym user for many years i decided to have a change to see if there was anything better out there! The most i have spent on car wax before was on the AG Hi-Def wax, while i was happy with the results i found it a bit of a pain to apply, with the wax breaking up into little bits.

After first using the Muc Off car shampoo and being impressed i looked into other products in the Muc Off range.
I did some research on the Uber Wax and found a few positive reviews on various car detailing sites, they all said it was easy to apply and the longevity was good. They also do a much cheaper wax called Miracle Shine, but i was curious to see what the results of a £80 tub of wax would be,and if it would be money well spent or no better than the trusty old (and much cheaper!)Auto Glym.

So,onto the product! The box it came in was nice, and a feel of quality about it,the applicator and microfibre cloth that come with it are good quality too.
The wax itself comes in a nice glass tub as opposed to plastic, smells nice too!
The wax was smooth and was very easy to apply,a little really did go a long way and after covering the whole car the level of wax in the tub had hardly moved.
Taking the wax off still required a fair bit of effort, but to be fair there was a bit of damp in the air which didn't help.

The end results were very good, giving the car a lovely deep and glossy shine. It wasn't long after that it rained and the beading from the wax was impressive.
After about a month i washed it again using the Muc Off shampoo, the coating of wax on the car made it very easy to wash the winter salt e.t.c off and it came up very clean and shiny again.
Although the beading after washing it wasn't quite as good as before it still does bead well and the paintwork still feels smooth and waxed.

To sum up...it is a lot of money, but it is a quality wax and should last months if not years,so think of it as buying in bulk!

This stuff is fantastic! Use the foam applicator pad to sparingly wipe the wax onto the car in straight lines, carefully doing as much as you can in 10-15 mins (this won't be much, a panel or two at most). Allow the wax time to bond to the paint before using the super-soft microfibre cloth to buff to a fantastic deep shine.

This wax is safe to use on paintwork, glass and metals. After application, the water beads off better than I have ever seen from any other wax; apparently this lasts some time.

Doing a full rinse, wash, dry, clay, wash, wax took about three and a half hours. The ease of application of this wax helped keep the time down.

I'll be using this stuff to hand wax 3-4 times a year, and using the Auto Glym spray wax after washing between these full hand waxes.

Very happy with this, couldn't have wanted for a better result.
Very easy to apply with the pad that comes with it, and surprisingly easily to remove with a microfibre cloth.
The results are stunning, high gloss and gives a lovely beading when it rains.
Would happily but again, although I can't see when that will be as even after doing both cars twice, you can't tell any has been used from the tub!
