Product description

Product Description

Mrs Doubtfire
Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) is no ordinary father, so when he learns his ex-wife (Sally Field) needs a housekeeper, he applies for the job. With the perfect wig, a little makeup and a dress for all occasions, he becomes Mrs Doubtfire, a devoted British nanny who is hired on the spot. Free to be the "woman" he never knew he could be, the disguised Daniel creates a whole new life with his entire family.

Big

All 12-year-old old Josh Baskin wants is to be big. But when his wish is granted beyond his wildest dreams, Josh finds a new face in the mirror--his own, at age 30. Now, aided only by his boisterous best friend, he'll have to keep his true age a secret as he tries to fill hs own over-sized shoes. But as his innocent charms help him rise to the top of the adult world, Josh will face the biggest decision of his life--return to his own age or remain big forever.

Dr Doolittle
A successful physician and devoted family man, John Dolittle (Murphy) seems to have the world by the tail, until a long-suppressed talent possessed as a child--the ability to communicate with animals--is suddenly reawakened with a vengeance. Now every creature within squawking distance wants the good doctor's advice, unleashing an outrageous chain of events that turn his world upside down. Featuring an all-star menagerie of voice talent (including Chris Rock, John Leguizamo, Norm MacDonald, Albert Brooks, Gary Shandling and Ellen DeGeneres), this wild and woolly free-for-all is your prescription for hilarious hijinks and "mischievous fun!" (The New York Times)

Okay, so these movies are quite old but they are classics, and films which I can watch again and again, and share with my children. In my opinion, the film version of 'Mrs Doubtfire' is actually better than the film, probably because of the comic genius of Robin Williams. It has it's touching moments, as family break-down is explored so well in this film, but it is also hilarious. Some great character performances here too from Pierce Brosnan and Sally Field. 'Big' is another enduring favourite of mine because of the tenderness of the portrayal of growing up played so sensitively by Tom Hanks. And the moment in the Toy Store where characters dance on the electronic keyboard is one of my favourite moments in film. There are some good eighties musical hits throughout. It takes you back, but in a good way. I'm slightly less keen on Dr Doolittle but the other two are brilliant.

A great boxset. All timeless classics, with three famous actors. If you are looking for laughs then this is the box set for you. My favorite is Big.

Personally I would not of included Dr. Dolittle, purely because there are three other parts to this film. But, you cannot have it all.

Bought this 'treble' because of 'BIG'. Tom Hanks is truly outstanding in this film and the storyline, script and supporting cast makes it memorable. I look forward to viewing the other two productions.
