My parents met in Aldershot Military Hospital during their army years. My mother was from Wolverhampton and my father from Ladybank in Fife, Scotland.
I was raised on the Rough Hills Estate area of the town and Bennet Scottish ancestral roots are in the Kingdom of Fife, Dundee and Angus, may even be Perthshire. My research shows that my Kennedy roots are Kirkcaldy, Fife and along that coastline.
My wife and 2 children moved across town to Codsall, Staffordshire in the mid 1980's.

The feeling of running past the road I was raised in on the Wolverhampton Marathon, experiencing seeing the sunrise in Fife and walking over the Tay Bridge and into Dundee at 3pm after setting off from St Andrews at dawn. Both being ancestral places.
The Black Country Bugle were first to print my writing in the early 1990's. Since then I have been invited to be featured on websites Poetry of Scotland, Scotlands Enchanted Kingdom and Collessie - A Beautiful Village.
I can only describe myself as a travel writer come poet as many of my story and verses come from walking somewhere or other. I had always been a keen sportsman but my marathon days were over as excessive wear and tear took its toll on the old knees.
I often return to my childhood Rough Hills and to my ancestral Fife to recreate old feelings. Since walking the Fife Coastal Path in 2007 and 2008, I have carried on a wee bit more whenever I am in Scotland. On my last visit in 2015 I saw the sunrise over Angus as I walked into Arbroath at 7.00am on a fine Wednesday morning.

My wife and I are now proud grandparents and In 2014, turning aged 60, I celebrated 25 years of writing.
