Although having several lacks of in-depth explanations in examples, this book is a joy to the eyes of the reader when it comes to seeing colorful images in examples of composition and how to set up and ready your DSLR camera for your first shoot.

This is, however, not the book for experienced filmmakers. I own and have read lots of books about DSLR Video and photography, but have yet to find a single book that really deliver the goods. What this book does is introduce the reader to necessary basic information on how to set up and prepare your camera along with some shooting techniques, sound recording devices, lighting gear and techniques, and additional tools and gadgets necessary and practical to help improve your work. The book also offers information about the differences between working with a real video camera as opposed to the many pros and cons of shooting video with a DSLR camera.

I cannot say enough about Olivia and her Studio of engaging devotion to DSLR Moviemaking, for all to comment and respond to.
Seldom does one find a Leader in a progressive field of creative change that can interview, demonstrate, do DIY, and talk in
depth when needed and still make it so FRESH. Olivia leads the tide of devotion to creative process that requires a personal
skill of Great Heart. The Handbook to me was great reminder of the days as Photographer at the University of Canterbury, where I was studying Botany, Geology, etc, My resounding joy was to have small handbooks of the subjects that I could easily carry in
my pack whilst tramping and mountaineering, quick referals and informers. Just what you want to help explane the basics and help you learn..........You Just Shine Olivia.....A Great Thanks

I came across Olivia Speranza by chance when searching for Steadicam merlin video reviews on the web via Mr CheesyCam. A year later I find her knowledge and practical application of the technologies fantastic, down-to-earth, straight to the point and interesting. OliviaTech is more of a product review platform but for me, her book is really useful as a catalogue of equipment one would need for various videography applications. A talented on-screen personality too, I often find myself refering back to it as a reference for things I could do and kit I might consider. Bottom-line, a nice package which lots of useful content. Fab!
