Lots of information but for a first time user, it proved confusing. The fact that it is a monochrome publication made matters worse for me and I am returning the book to Amazon.

This is a book for lovers of techno language. it is not a book for dummies, which is what it says on the tin. I am a dummie with computers, and this is way btoo complex. The language is far beyond my ken.

HASH(0x998fc9c8) out of 5 stars Still a Dummy, or maybe NOT? 16 Jan. 2013
By DFJr - Published on Amazon.com

I have had my first encounter with an Apple product on Dec 27 2012, a new IMAC, needless to say I was somewhat terrified. For the last ten years Windows XP, and Windows 7 were the only thing I worked with. I have a Dummies book for each, smart huh? So after much research, although there are many out there, this one seemed right. Amazon.com delivered in fast time, (Jan 7 2013) with this book my IMAC is at this posting up and running, Wireless, Secure, e-mail, back-up drive, and more in less then two weeks. Have not had to call Apple for help yet. For the time being this book will be close to me at all times, because it is easy to read and understand, loads of information, along with some humor. The bottom line, it gets you where you need to be, or shows you how to get there, and where NOT to go. Outstanding book.

HASH(0x99901bac) out of 5 stars useful, specific, comprehensive 27 July 2013

A good to-the-point reference to have within reach, not a read-cover-to-cover-at-one-sitting volume. Usefully organized into 8 "books" each dealing with a specific portion of OS X. Thoughtful, comprehensive table of contents and index. Recommended.

HASH(0x99903c3c) out of 5 stars Review of OS X Mountain Lion for Dummies 12 Mar. 2013

I liked this very much and indeed would be lost without it as I am new to MacBook. The only thing I would like to see is a little more detail about certain items and how to achieve end results. For instance, would like to know a little more about printers used as the default and why preferences will not show up when trying to set up page.
I am still getting used to this new system and am confident I will be able to work this out with time.
