It synced with my Samsung Galaxy S7 in seconds, setup was very easy and I can get all WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter etc notifications on my watch. It also shows e-mails, Texts, call details and controls my music player on my phone.
You can get 1000's of different styles of watch face from the very basic just showing the time to lots of other info. My current face shows the outside temp, date, time, daily steps and battery status for both the watch and my phone.
I am currently getting 2 days use from 1 charge and I haven't found anything wrong with this watch at all.
I do recommend this watch if you are looking for something that looks good but offers a lot. Works excellent with my HTC and hasn't shown any problems yet. Just the perfect companion for your Android phone. In my opinion is performs better than other competing smartwatches that are available to buy for Android and iOS.
My one gripe is the leather strap is of pretty poor quality. After wearing it about 3 times, the leather where the buckle locks into has become slightly frayed, as if I've owned the watch for months. It's not super noticeable, but it definitely bothers me when I put the watch on. I'm always extra careful now when I fasten it which is something I've never had to do to other watches I've owned.
Definitely worth the money if you find yourself constantly pulling out your phone to check the time and respond to notifications, I wouldn't pay any more than £160 for it, as someone that isn't super into watches.
Once the novelty of changing watch faces wears off, what you are left with is a sometimes useful, sometimes 'smart', sometimes annoying piece of kit.
I bought this mainly as I was looking for a heartrate monitor to compliment my fitness tracking through Endomondo. However, this watch isn't really up to the task as the heart rate monitor will only work while standing still, and won't work whilst excersizing. This begs the question of 'what's the point?' If you can only take your heartrate while standing still (during which time your heartrate inevitably drops) it isn't very useful.
However, if I had done my research properly, I would have known that this was the case, so I can't really hold it against the watch for my own lack of research.
As for it's function as a 'smart watch' I feel that this technology, while having great potential, isn't quite there yet.
This very much feels like 'Android-on-a-watch' which I know is exactly what it is, but allow me to explain why it shouldn't be.
I have had Android devices since the HTC Hero was released and have seen it develop into a heavy hitter in the smart phone arena. That being said, there are several things which I am willing to put up with in a mobile phone, but are unacceptable in a watch. Things such as the screen taking half a second to power on, followed by another half second for the watch face to 'update' to the correct time. This may not seem like much, but it rules out 'glancing at the time' as you have to carefully position your arm in the correct, pre-determined, watch viewing position (or push the button), wait for the screen to turn on, then wait again for the time to update.
The next issue is responsiveness. I found some screen presses elicited no response from the app in question, or if it did register, there would be some delay before the requested action took place. Again, I expect this on occasion from a multitasking smart phone, but find it simply annoying from a smart watch.
There are, however, some good points. I really liked the moto activity tracker, which included a pedometer ensuring I got my government mandated '10,000' steps per day. It was great to hang up on nuisance callers without having to get my phone out of my pocket and the 'poor battery life' which others report didn't seem much of a problem with the provided wireless charging stand. Controlling the Google play music app from the watch was also a bonus for me, although I found this app sometimes unresponsive (not sure if that was a problem with the app itself.)
All in all this still feels like an early adopter product, and while it has great potential, I don't think it's quite there yet.
I have returned my watch for a full refund and will invest in a proper heart rate monitor instead.
