To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this phone back in March/April of this year. But last week was the final straw for me and I will cover this at the end of the review. The phone is 16GB, certainly not enough storage for various apps, so every so often I would have to delete an app to fit another I'd like to use. A short summary of key items:
BATTERY LIFE - Not that great to be honest. Even with medium use, by tea time you'll be down to 15 - 20%. However, with the turbo charger the phone does charge up relatively quickly.
CAMERA - Day light had no issues. Night time, don't even go there. The camera struggles in low light conditions.
BUILD QUALITY - Solid enough and pretty good for the price you pay.
OS - Generally ok with the odd buggy moment.
USABILITY - This is the main gripe of mine and enough was enough. GHOST TOUCH!!! Every bleeding time I charge. Sometimes the battery was low but I still had to use the phone, text, emails etc... Then that's when the Ghost would kick in. The phone would have a mind of its own, freeze up and just select random apps and buttons, to the point the phone became unusable. So, after last weeks frustration, I went on Amazon and bought a Samsung A5. Arrived today and a breath of fresh air!
If you never got the Ghost, you are one of the lucky ones. Will be avoiding all MOTO/LENEVO phones like the plague in the future.
1. Unlike brands in its price range the Moto G4 doesn't have a compass. Google Maps can tell you where you are in the map -thanks to GPS- but the phone's lack of a compass means you don't know which way you're facing, whether your destination lies straight ahead, or to the right or left.... The only way to know is walk 50 yards or so and ascertain whether your're getting any nearer to your destination.
2. SIM2 slot works on and off. A number of issues have been raised in the forums. In my particular case sims in slot 2 failed to be detected from the outset (unfortunately by the time I first used the second slot it was too late to return the phone).

Absolutely dissatisfied with this phone. First issue I had was that under 4G some calls were not coming through. Caller believes the phone is ringing but no calls are shown as being received on the phone. Switching to 3G seemed to help. Secondly I am getting repeated SIM disconnection with phone not recognising there is a SIM in the phone. It reconnects then disconnects again and again. Googling I see this is problem a number of others have. To add insult to injury I tried twice to contact Amazon tech support but though it said I was connected there was no response. Only to find two voice messages from Amazon which had not connected through to me. I am an experienced mobile user. I have had a Motorola moto G2 in the past and was happy with that. Though the features on this phone are high enough spec for me the phone is not able to function consistently at a basic level. 25/2 update... I would like to add that I have had an excellent response from Amazon within 2 hours of posting this message and writing to them. So I am very satisfied with Amazon's service. But not the product. 28/2 update - I have discovered that my issues are all caused by my mobile network. I bought and tried a Vodafone SIM and all worked perfectly. I have corrected my rating to 5 as I am now really happy with the phone.
When I charge it turbo adaptor or not the screen freezes and presses things I didn't press complete screen lag and glitch whenever I'm charging I paid slot for this don't expect this with a new phone but frankly can't be bothered going through that long and hard return process again! Be warned some off these phones must have faults that's why cheap for what you get.
I've just learned that you can't corners with getting a decent mobile phone , you get what you pay for! I thought buying this was a good deal at a good price but I should of listened to the other reviews about the ghost screening , poor battery life, over heating, and it gets slower each time i use it..I've had it for about 4 months and should never of bothered with getting this. I've now just purchased the latest iPhone8 that's out . Im not sugesting you go to that sort of extreme..lol but if your here looking to save a few quid on a semi decent phone I would save yourself the disappointment
Bought this Motorola G4 plus two months ago, at first everything was fine but then it started playing up as though it had a mind of it's own, since learned its called Ghosting, it even phoned my grandson 3 times and I couldn't stop it, I returned it to Amazon and received a replacement yesterday, big mistake, the new one started ghosting this morning after only 24 hours, alright it only did it briefly for about 10 seconds but that's how the other one started. It is obviously a problem with this phone and it should be taken off sales, it would be ok if you could download something to fix it but as far as I'm aware that's not possible, full credit to Amazon for replacing the original so quickly , I am now going to contact them about this one and either get a refund or a different phone.
