Motorola MBP36S Digital Video Baby Monitor
Motorola's MBP36S Digital Video Baby monitor will give you the reassurance that your child is resting peacefully. Equipped with 2.4 GHz FHSS technology for sound clarity, you can feel comfortable that your little one will come through loud and clear when they need you. A 3.5 inch LCD colour display shows sound and video monitoring, with infrared night vision. Data encryption is built-in for added security.
The MBP36S Digital Video Baby monitor has a useful range of up to 200 m with an out-of-range warning, allowing you to move around the house or the garden comfortably, knowing that you will hear when your little one is awake. When being used in battery mode, the screen will go blank after two minutes of inactivity, at which point the unit enters a power saving mode.
2.4 GHz FHSS Technology with Two-Way Communication
The 2.4 GHz FHSS technology offers a more reliable wireless connection than previous cordless technologies, which means ideal range and less chance of missing something important in your baby's room due to a weak or dropped signal.
The MBP36S also features two-way communication, so you can speak or sing to your baby remotely or communicate with a partner in the room.
Colour LCD Screen with Infrared Night Vision
A full-colour 3.5 inch LCD display shows real-time video and sound in your baby's room with up to 25 FPS video playback, letting you keep informed of what's going on visually as well as audibly. Infrared night vision means you can also stay in touch with what's going in your baby's room without any lights to disturb little sleepers.

Five LED Alerts for Sound-Activated Lights

Room Temperature Monitor
The MBP36S's transmitter is equipped with a room temperature sensor which is reported on the receiver's LCD display, so you can ensure that it never gets too hot or too cold for your little one.
Up to 200 m Range with Out-of-Range Warning
The strong wireless range of the MBP36S lets you keep connected to your baby up to 200 m away, so even if you have a larger home you don't have to give up safety or the ability to stay connected to your little one. An alarm sounds when you're getting out of range of the transmitting unit, so you'll never have to wonder if you're close enough to hear what's going on.
Pan, Tilt and Zoom
Control the MBP36S's camera remotely to pan, tilt and zoom the video image as needed.
Five Lullabies Built-In
Lull your baby to sleep with one of five polyphonic lullabies programmed into the MBP36S.
Note: the switch on the MBP36S should be operated as per the user guide - "press and hold power button for one second to switch on or off".
On initial start up we recommend fully charging the unit to help maintain optimum battery performance for the life of the baby monitor.

Indications
Troubleshooting steps for No display
- Try recharging or replacing the battery pack.
- Reset the units. Disconnect the battery pack of the parent unit and unplug both the units' electrical power, then plug them back in.
- Is the unit turned on?
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button P on the Parent Unit to turn it ON.
- Slide the ON/OFF switch on the Baby Unit to ON.
- Is the correct camera selected?
- Change the camera number, if necessary.
- Is the video display turned on?
- Press the VIDEO ON/OFF button V to turn it on.
- When operating using batteries only, the Display will go blank after
- 5 minutes or 30 minutes or 60 minutes to save power (depending on video on setting). The unit is still active and will give you audio alerts. You can reactivate the screen by pressing any button.

This video monitor is really good which is why it is so frustrating that I feel I have to give it one star in its review. The actual video monitor is excellent-the picture is really clear, the sound is good, you can move the camera around using the monitor screen and you can play music and speak to your baby. However, it doesn't last long! My child is 2 1/2 years old and we are now on the fourth monitor which is really crazy! We bought two so that we could have one at my parents house as they were looking after him too and both ours and the one at the grandparents house has needed replacing. The replacement at the grandparents also stopped working so we had to return it to Amazon for a refund and bought a different style of video monitor. Annoyingly, the new video monitor that we bought his nowhere near as good as the Motorola - you can't move the camera and it is difficult to play the lullabies. I find it ridiculous that Motorola have not fixed the problem with the charging socket as this is what has gone wrong with all of our monitors and, from the reviews I can see it is not a problem that is unique to us! Great monitor, doesn't last long though! I have been put off buying another one of these monitors despite how much we like it. We are going to have to try some other ones.

1st one lasted less than a year (it was replaced by Amazon). The second one has just broken after 18 months.
Was a great piece of kit to keep at eye on my son who had a tracheostomy. After he went to bed it meant I could have tea / watch TV in another room for an hour or so. That really was priceless.
Just a shame they don't last a bit longer for the price.

We have just purchased a replacement for the first monitor and still having problems. With the first monitor the camera kept shuddering and sending and error message when we were moving it. The on/off button on the monitor wasn't pushing in and the picture quality was poor. The replacement monitor the product loses signal in the room next door. It isn't fit for purpose. The battery last 2 hours max. We contacted Motorola customer service who are not helpful at all & were told the poor battery life was normal. They basically were rude to us and fobbed us off. We will be returning the replacement to buy a different brand

Hi there, I'm sorry to learn of the problems you've experienced. The monitor losing signal in the room next door makes me think it isn't working as it should. The range is very good on this model so unless there is something environmental such as particularly thick walls, WiFi interference, WiFi extenders then we would recommend replacing. It is true that the monitor shouldn't be left off charge for long periods of time. The battery is supposed to give you the flexibility to pop and make a drink or hang washing for example, when in use it should really be plugged in. This is a great baby monitor, we loved all 3 of ours. The problem was we had 3 in 16months all with separate faults (one only lasted 3 days before it just stopped working).
If you are going to spend this kind of money on a baby monitor - spend a bit more and get the newer model

We bought this 6 weeks ago and the battery is already dead so it needs to be on charge 24/7 to work. The 200 meters range is a joke - ours barely reaches 20 meters!!! Additionally we have just discovered that the microphone doesn't work whilst I was attempting to speak with my husband when he was in the room with the baby!! Very disappointing I would strongly advice against buying this. I do hope we get our money back

The parent unit isn't designed to be left off charge when in use, the battery should allow you some flexibility for moving room to room or to pop to make a drink for example.
With regard to the range, under perfect laboratory conditions we expect up to 50M indoors and 300M outdoors. In a normal home with WiFi and other electrical equipment we wouldn't expect to reach the maximum range but most people find it perfectly suitable in a normal home- if the signal needs to pass through particluarly thick walls then of course it would reduce.
The mic should of course be working properly and if the battery won't work at all then it would seem it isn't working as it should.

Terrible. Bought this product as a replacement for similar model that I bought 2 years ago. This is terrible at connecting cam to base unit. Even when they are right next to each other. Very laggy when they are connected and controls very unresponsive. Not a patch on the previous version...MOTOROLA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. Destroyed a great product and this one is definitely not fit to watch over your baby.
1 star for this product. 5 star for your old version. Get it sorted as this product is a disgrace for the money.

We already have one of these and it has worked very well so we bought a second for our second child, expecting to be able to use two cameras with one parent unit as per the product description. The new second camera doesn't link up. We have contacted Motorola for assistance but after sending in details of the cameras have had no response. Disappointed with Motorola's customer service.
