Designed for new mobile phone users, this is a very easy to use phone. To help bridge literacy gaps, the MOTOFONE F3 offers a redesigned user interface with innovative voice prompts in local languages to guide the user quickly and easily through menu navigation, messaging, and other functions. In addition, graphical icons visually illustrate the phone's features as well as network status and battery strength. Surprisingly thin and easy to carry, the MOTOFONE features a revolutionary ClearVision Display (CVD) that leverages Electrophoretic Display (EPD) technology to provide users with a large, high-contrast screen viewable even in bright sunlight. The ClearVision Display combined with a flush-fitting keypad and dust-resistant design makes the MOTOFONE durable in active everyday use. And it sounds great too - with polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, and powerful volume - communication is loud and clear.

Do not buy from Pixmania_UK. they supply an EU spec which breaks when used in the UK and is not covered by manufacturers warranty. Customer service terrible too, avoid. Pay more for a genuine UK model.
Admittedly, this phone was designed for and is manufactured within 'developing economies' (mine states 'Made In India') and I'm not sure Motorola are doing themselves many favours allowing it to be marketed within the US/EU as anything other than a curiosity; but then, please refer to my opening sentence to how much of a shame that is!
Things that suit developing economies, are here as features on this phone; long battery life, ability to recharge from a bike dynamo (sadly this add-on not available in the UK - why? - it's not as if it needs to be type or voltage approved!) and most importantly a display that consumes next to no current, and is readable in bright sunlight as if it were printed black on white.
So, no, you can't take pictures, no, strangely you can't access Wastebook, and no, if you have 300 'freinds' that you definately text all the time, the phonebook won't be so accomodating for you. Texting full stop is not a joy with this phone, but it is possible, which is more so than lots of the recent trendy 'basic phone' offerings that are coming out of late at sky high prices. It also has a spoken voice option - and to the guy that complained it wasn't in his language on another review - make sure you buy the right version eh pal?! The UK/US english option is definately out there and both my F3's have it.
Motorola wanted to make a reliable, attractive, non far-eastern sourced phone that the typical Indian worker could afford without spending a months wages, and without being stuck trying to charge it up. In achieving this, they deserve an award. Of course, things move on, and this is now an old model, but it is brilliant for what it does...
Anyway, I bought this phone after reading that it uses an electronic paper display, just like the Kindle, and I decided to look into it. After receiving it I was surprised at how well-built the device is - and the best thing is the battery life, which I charge once a week only, despite making calls for one or two hours each day.
Highly recommended for minimalists and people who just want a PHONE and nothing fancy added.
Definitely deserves 5 stars.
