Product Description

About the Author

Greg Pullen began a lifelong love affair with motorcycles in the sports moped and Barry Sheene era, during the long, hot summers of the 1970s. The Italian motorcycle obsession soon followed when a near neighbour bought a Laverda SFC750, soon replaced by a Moto Guzzi 850T3 for continental touring. Trained as a chartered surveyor specializing in old buildings, these days Greg spends his time in rural Wiltshire riding and writing for magazines that have included Classic Bike and Classic Bike Guide, alongside his own publication Benzina.

I was disappointed with this on the basis that the title is misleading in the extreme. For example there is not one image of a standard T series apart from the California. If you look at the site and coverage given in Colombo's book, now long out of print you could rightly call that a complete story. However, that book is very out of date and only available in Italian. If Greg Pullen could have applied that format and included some of the interesting material in his own book then you would have something really worthwhile. Something along the lines of Baccari's volume on the Parilla. I'm assuming that his publishers were not in the market for a book on that scale as it appears this book was produced to a price and not to fulfil a genuine need.

The best book of Moto Guzzi's story, topics covered include the origins of the Moto Guzzi factory in Italy - the oldest motorcycle factory in the world like the my "V7 classic race cafe" of the 2009.

How can you write a book with the title "Moto Guzzi: The Complete Story" and not include the V11 (i.e. V11 Sport, V11 Scura; V11 Rosso Mandelo; V11 Le Mans; V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa; V11 Le Mans Nero Corsa; V11 Coppa Italia; etc)...?
