Product description

About the Author

Drawing upon her experiences in Jamesport, the largest Old Order Amish community west of the Mississippi, longtime Missourian Charlotte Hubbard writes of simpler times and a faith-based lifestyle. Charlotte considers it her personal mission to feed people--to share hearth and home. Faith and family, farming and food preservation are hallmarks of her lifestyle--and the foundation of all her Amish romance series. She's a deacon, a dedicated church musician, and a choir member. When she's not writing, she loves to try new recipes, crochet, and sew. Charlotte now lives in Minnesota with her husband and their border collie.

Wonderful story of love and redemption. We often let our pride get in the way of forgiveness. It is a humbling but rewarding experience when we let go our pride.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book! 21 Mar. 2017

Rose Raber has had a difficult year, first losing her husband and father in a fire and now her mother from cancer. She knows she needs to build a new life for herself but her world is turned even more upside down when she discovers she was adopted. Matthias Wagler is also building a new life for himself after the death of his wife. Fate not only draws these two together but Rose with her birth mother but the truth of Rose’s birth threatens the happiness of all involved.

“A Mother’s Love” is such a good book that I almost read it in one sitting and probably would have if I didn’t have to work the next day! At first I didn’t think I would like this book because the beginning was quite sad but I became so involved in Rose’s story that I ended up loving it. Rose’s story – and that of her birth mother – is quite compelling and since this is an Amish romance, the reason her mother gave her up as a baby is quite believable and sad. Rose is a strong character, who fights to rebuild her life even if she has to go against the advice of her Bishop. Rose’s daughter Grace is very cute and a nice light-hearted note in the novel. Matthias is also a compelling character and the romance between he and Rose is very sweet. Mixed in with the romance is the story of Rose’s birth mother – this is a very moving plot-line and I love what author Charlotte Hubbard did with this. Often in Amish romances there is talk of God’s will but never have I seen it dealt with so well as it is in this book – everything that happens in this book happens for a purpose – so well done by Hubbard.

“A Mother’s Love” is an enjoyable Amish Romance.
