The self-titled debut album by the pioneering new wave band, the Motels, was released in 1979. The album established their unique sound represented by some of their best known songs, including Total Control, Counting, Dressing Up and Celia. Deluxe Vinyl Replicas by Culture Factory constitute high quality reissued compact-discs which reproduce all the components of the original LPs and are their exact replicas in compact-disc size (5.3 x 5.3 inches), with authentic single or gatefold cardboard jackets and paper sleeves. In addition to the above, each compact-disc Deluxe Vinyl Replica includes a black finish CD complete with the original label to give it the look and feel of the original record album. Culture Factory strives to achieve an authentic sound with the highest possible fidelity to the original studio masters. Our remastering process brings out the music's true dynamics and original clarity with low levels of noise. In the remastering studio the audio tracks are handled in the form of high-definition, 96Kz / 24-bit digital files for greatest preservation of fidelity. Signal compression is sometimes used to bring out frequencies that were absent or barely heard in the original recordings, and we use the least amount of compression possible. While sound perception varies greatly among individuals our vinyl replica CDs are designed to provide the optimal listening experience when using flat EQ settings. Brand new, original, factory-shrinkwrapped, limited edition CD release.

Reminiscent of their contemporaries Shakin Street too.... have listen on Spotify to both and return to buy the albums! Maybe also The Pretenders or Lone Justice....
Martha Davis and Band never sounded so good on record/cd I would not have belived that this is a 33 year old recording!

I was surprised to find I really like it. I was more surprised when LGG
began singing "Poker Face." I recognized it and went to the web
to find out more. It was by The Motels on this debut album in 1979.
In 1979, I was a US Marine in Cherry Point, NC. My buddy Chit brought
this album (yes, actually a vinyl album) back from leave and we played
it until the grooves wore out. This album is a great, artistic leap
from other music at the time. It is exceedingly well recorded, and every
track on it is a well-written, cabaret-like past/future time capsule; they
sort of take you someplace away from your everyday world.
I went to Amazon immediately to find this original on CD so I can
take it with me everywhere. It arrived and I ripped it open and have
listened to it everyday. Celia is an awesome cut, Total Contol, Kix,
all great! Lady Gaga's poker face is good, the Motels, Awesome!
