The three stars is not for the music. That gets a not-surprising 5. The two stars are knocked off for the overall package. Whilst I have no complaints about the layout and sleeve notes the whole idea of a 15th Anniversary release just seems a bit lame. The obsession with anniversaries is reaching new standards of pointlessness with some releases even getting a 'deluxe' issue after a mere 10 years. The vast amount of music released over the last 5 decades that remains either unreleased or badly presented seems to have bypassed the major record labels and their sole motive these days is to recycle and regurgitate the same stuff over and over again. In the 90s it was the promise of enhanced sound quality that acted as the selling point. In this age of quantity over quality that idea doesn't sell (it does to me but not the majority of people it seems) so there has to be new ways of enticing buyers to re-buy catalogue albums. B-sides (remember those?), live and unreleased tracks are the order of the day here and although the enthusiastic fan will have the majority of the songs on various releases it is a bonus for the less obsessed fan to have them bundled together on one disc. This is my motive for buying this package. However, having to re-buy a disc I already own is somewhat of an irritation. Usually Universal remaster the original albums in their deluxe edition packages so at least you are getting a different (albeit not always better) version. That makes the 2CD packages a little more palatable pricewise. However in this case the original album has not been remastered (the manufacturing indices on the disc prove this). On this occasion it's a wise decision as the sound on this album was what made it so enjoyable with its warm, analog grooves.Read more ›

Ocean Colour Scene are a sadly neglected or ignored band which is criminal, 'Mosley Shoals' ably demonstrates that they are a quintessential classic British band.... whilst at the time Oasis might have grabbed the headlines, OCS provided the substance for that al to fleeting 90's era of Britopop. Check it out if you can get a copy

Obviously a cracking album from OCS,not a dud tra k.
My comments are on this Anniversary vinyl reissue.
I always have reservations about coloured vinyl pressings, but i have to say this limited edition RED vinyl, while looking fabulous, sounds awesome to boot.
Been wanting this on vinyl for quite some time but and reluctant to pay in excess of 100 for a 1st pressing.Im sure this release will prove very very popular for those that appreciate the sound that only vinyl can give and a band at the top of there game.I saw these guys when they supported Oasis in Loch Lomond touring Morning Glory and was blown away.Great gig, awesome album.Buy it!!
