Product Description

Product Description

Mortal Kombat : Shaolin Monks is an Action/Adventure title driven by both intense single and multi-player action. Similar to the recently released Mortal Kombat: Deception, background interactions (i.e., acid pits, living trees, spiked ceilings, etc.), multiple new fatalities, and action-based puzzles will also play an important role in the player's quest for an outstanding victory. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks will feature an impressive line-up of Mortal Kombat characters, as well, that make frequent appearances as enemies, in boss battles and during several additional in-game interactions.

  • First Ever MK Action/Adventure with Multi-Directional Kombat System. Levy attacks in any direction at any time, all the while not losing focus on the primary target (with unique animations and properties for every direction). Experience incredible depth of combat via Strings, Juggles, Special Attacks, Air Combat and Fatalities.
  • Single or Two-player co-op gameplay. Play as Liu Kang or Kung Lao, each with their own unique repertoire of four "Attack Styles" plus Special Attacks, and Fatalities. Unlock additional characters and abilities through various gameplay systems.
  • More Comprehensive Fatalities, New Multalities, Brutalities and Classic Special Attacks.
Weapon Kombat. Discover weapons throughout your journey and use them to increase the damage on your enemy kombatants.
  • Interactive Environments. Melt enemies in acid pits, impale them on spiked ceilings, and hang them from hooks. Combine background interactions with Combat to solve unique action-orientated puzzles. Hurl an enemy into a spiked wall and leap from their impaled body to a higher area!
  • Mortal Kombat Mythos. See the infamous Mortal Kombat Tournament from the eyes of Earthrealm's mightiest combatant Shaolin Monks Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
  • Explore the Outworld in its entirety...

This game is very fantastic. The graphic is good and also the moves of several fighters are good. MK Shaolin Monks includes an exiting story and if you buy this game, you will enjoy it. The worst problem is that there is written to complete all 5 Smoke Missions to get Mortal Kombat 2 Arcade. That's not true. I've completed all 5 Smoke Missions but Mortal Kombat 2 Arcade did not appear. I tried to get MK 2 with a cheat but this game also didn't appear.

I've always been a fan of Mortal Kombat since it first saw light. What's attractive about Shaolin Monks is the amazing fighting style, movements, and speed. it gets tough sometimes and depressing to find your way out. Nevertheless, it does not fail to entertain, and it is certainly an excellent game as far as sound, and graphics are concerned. Game play is nice, but could've been better especially in Boss battles, and single player mode. I am looking forward to the next one...I am sure it'll be as good as this one.

This game is SUPERB!! its exactly what the ps2 has been crying out for., we`ve got loads of 1st person shooters & racing games but many games as good as this one. God of war is an excellent game in itself but you feel when playing it that you`re missing something, mortal kombat gives you that missing thing which is FATALITIES not only do they give you 1 fatality you can unlock upto 10!! the graphics are superb, the storyline awesome and longetivity is great because they`ve also thrown in a vs mood as well!! not only have they given us all these great features for the 1st time on any ps2 game (that i know of) you can actually play a 2-player co-op game with both players on the screen at the same time. (one controlling liu kang & the other controlling kung lao).
if i could have given this game more than five stars i would have done as this game has everything. all gamers who enjoy great games such as the devil may cry trilogy and god of war this is a must by game for all y`all!!! FINISH HIM!!

Mortal Kombat Shoalin Monks, is arguably one of the best MK games out.
The game is the 3rd attempt at the story based adventure games based in the MK universe(MK Mytholigies and Speacial Forces) and to that degree its the most successful.

The graphics of this game are really good and detailed ok some might look a little bit choppy but all in all its great to look at, The CG Cutscenes are also really good on this game with the most entertaining opening scene featuring heroes and villains fighting after the first MK Tournament. The environments look good and can be interacted with also the backgrounds are well animated especially the Wu Shi Academy when Barakas men attack you see in the back ground monks fighting with the tarkatans and it looks really cool.

The Story revolves around Lui Kang and Kung Loa and in set around the time of Mortal Kombat 2 events before and up to the mortal kombat 2 tourament, Alot of characters from the series are here in some of the best boss fights in any game of this type. Boss battles include:

Goro
Kintaro
Shang Stung
Baraka
Shao Kahn
Scorpion
Sub Zero
Reptile
And many more

Each boss battle has an individual fatality to pull off with the prompt button sequence.

A range of unique fatalities are also availible throughout the adventure itself to use on minions etc, with unlockable characters such as Scorpion and Sub Zero and 2 player co op mode this game has alot of replay value.
There is even a VS battle mode that really doesnt feel like it should, its like Shoalin Monks very own fight engine in what could just be the same as MKD etc but it's still alot of fun.

This game is cool and it rocks. Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks is for real Mortal Kombat fans!!! But there is one big problem. There is written that one should complete the 5 Smoke Missions to get Mortal Kombat 2 Arcade. The first Smoke Mission: Go to the tombs and destroy the walls to get the hidden fatality. So I went there, through the door with the green sign and destroyed all the walls by throwing the Tarkatas against the walls but nothing happened. I went out and in and the walls were here again. I don't know what to do and I'm sure that this game has has a fault.
