There are two issues that have cropped up frequently in the other reviews that I want to address in turn:
1. Plastic smell during use - there was a faint smell when I used it in the early days. However, I do not get the impression that this was the result of any malfunction, melting on burning. I seems to me that the smell is simply just the smell of new plastic being emitted from the fan. It should be noted that this smell has significantly reduced after three weeks of fairly regular use which seems to support my argument.
2. It stops working after only a few uses - from my experience this is simply not the case. I've been using it twice a day since I've got it and have encountered no issues. However, note that there is a safety mechanism on the device whereby the motor will only run when the mixing glass is locked into place on the mixing unit (achieve by rotation the glass). I got a fright on my second ever use when I hadn't twisted the mixing glass far enough and when I went to switch it on nothing happened. My immediate thought was, 'the reviews were right, this thing’s a piece of s***' but on my second attempt I twisted it further and felt/heard the click and realised the error of my ways.
I would recommend registering the product on the MR website as this gives you a warranty up for 1 year (or maybe it's 2 years I can't remember).
In terms of the stuff I use it for it's mainly green smoothies consisting of spinach, avocado, banana, blueberries, flax, oats and water. However, at weekends I often use it to make banana pancakes which works a dream.
I recommended this to a friend who brought it in Sainsbury’s last weekend (note price in Sainsbury's in £5 more than on Amazon) and she loves it too.

I loved this product when it arrived but feel really disappointed now. I've had it for about 6 weeks and already the rubber seals in the blender and the beaker lids have come away. I can't use any of it any more as it leaks. Do I have a faulty product???

Great and simple blender - not high tech or particularly powerful but if you're looking for a nice simple smoothie maker to make drinks to take out and about then this is the best thing to go for. The blender is powerful enough to make a great smoothie and will crush ice within a drink and since it comes with beakers and lids you can blend up your drink and take it straight out with you without having to spend time decanting it into a suitable bottle/container. Truly a 5 star product, couldn't do without it now!

Very disappointed with this product.

The motor has pretty much burned out after less than a month!

I only use it once a day (for less than 10 seconds at a time) to mix a banana with milk for a protein shake. If this thing can't even mush up a banana god knows what would happen if ice was put in it like the picture!!

Normally I wouldn't write a review based on this as I would assume I just got a one off bad one, however looking over the comments it seems many others had the same experience. I should have listened to the other reviews and spent a little more on a high quality device, now my office stinks of electrical burning. :(

This product arrived looking good, well packaged etc. I washed it before use and the first thing that happened was the rubber ring fell out of one of the drinkable lids. I decided not to bother returning as could put it back it for use and I felt it was more effort that it was worth to return for a minor thing. However, i wish i had!
I have had it for a month now, it blends relatively well, although will always leave some lumps (i blend bananas etc in smoothies and without fail will always have lumps). I overlooked this as it wasn't enough of an issue for a product that was only 15 quid. After about 2 weeks the twisty button fell off when i was pulsing (i do lots of this to try to get rid of the lumps) and it now falls off regularly. NOW the lid with the blender on has started leaking when it is being used. COMPLETE waste of money. I am so annoyed as i thought it being a morphy richards product it would be relatively quality. No such luck, my advice is invest it a better quality product.

At first I couldn't use this blender, and asked for a return label. The spindle shank seemed to have snapped off. But a technically minded young man saw that it hadn't snapped off, only separated, so he put it together and showed me how it worked. The snap to and click assembly was too stiff for my smallish hands at first, but he loosened it up by doing it several times and it's fine. I've used it for fruit and for veggie smoothies. I'd recommend it. It's efficient and unfussy.

I have had this blender for a few months now and have been using it most mornings for a breakfast smoothie. I have also been creating the occasional blended milkshake.

To begin with, for the price you cannot go wrong. I paid about £15 for it as a "tester" before I potentially invested in a more expensive model. I can honestly say that it satifies most of my needs and as such have not upgraded from it yet. Having said that there are definitely some points where the cost does show. Starting with the blending function itself, the blades are relatively sharp and chew through soft fruits with ease. I have had difficulty in blending frozen fruits such as berries and mango, so usually put them in the fridge to defrost the night before. YMMV on what fruits you can get through but I would say that this is suitable for blending these things. Ice on the other hand has been mostly straightforward, with the occasional larger piece but most of it being crushed uniformly.

Moving on to the unit itself, the rubber feet were somewhat inadequate for keeping the unit stable when blending. If you plan to set this to blend and leave it you may experience problems. It tends to "drift" when blending through tougher contents. Again the cost shows in the motor, which is still emmiting a burning smell even after a few months of use. It is not crazily overpowering though so has not proven to be a huge issue, but it may cause some issues in the distant future.

The blender comes with two bottles to blend and go with your smoothies. I have not been awfully impressed with these, as the rubber seals in the lids frequently fall out and are not the easiest thing to put back in. Other than that the bottles are mostly leak-free and have proven to have no other issues.
