Product Description

The Morgana Show is a character-based sketch show starring comedic talent Morgana Robinson, Terry Mynott and Tom Davis. The fast-paced programme, first aired on Channel 4 in November/December 2010, features Morgana's take on celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Fearne Cotton, Boris Johnson and Lady Gaga, alongside her own creations, which include past-her-prime Hollywood siren Madolynn, funeral directors Joyce and Barry and loveable teenager Gilbert who is making a show for the internet with the not-so-expert help of his granddad.

The DVD features the five episodes from the series alongside a never-before-seen "Making of" feature and a blooper reel.

Had to wait ages for this to become available but my god was it worth the wait. We have watched it on TV, on 4OD (several times) & now on DVD & it just keeps getting funnier, you get to know the characters more & sometimes a scene has got several things going on at the same time so you have to watch it a few times to get the full impact, especially the "Hicks with ticks"
the 3 characters are all doing their bit & you have to watch 3 times so you can focus on each of the 3. Morgana has got to be the funniest & smartest comedy actor around at the moment, her character "Gilbert" is pure genius. Brilliant, more stuff like this please.

I picked up on this show as it was run back to back with Frankie Boyle's infamous programme! To be honest I found myself preferring this to Mr Boyle. I had never heard of Morgana before this but hope she gets the recognition she deserves. With the exception of perhaps 5% of the sketches I found myself laughing out loud - which for me is very rare! She is clearly talented and it's great to see someone NOT go down the tried and trusted route with sketches. Love the yuppie on the mobile! Buy with confidence!

Im so glad the Morgana Show is coming to dvd. I recorded her sketch shows on my sky hard drive, but realised i had lost a show from the series. So hearing that she was releasing her dvd with all episodes made me smile with anticipation to get to see all her sketches again. Admittedly some sketches are growers but Ferne Cotton, Cheryl Cole and Gilbert are instant hilarity and continue to be even funnier on repeated viewings.
Gilbert does seem to steal the show, as the comedy element of this character is hilarious on so many levels. Reminds me when channel 4 etc used to let ordinary, everyday people make their own documentaries to put on tv. Only Gilbert is no ordinary, everyday person.
Some other sketches are just entertaining, while the old men sitting around in the red, soldier uniforms, is the low point of each episode and really needs to be discarded in any future series, as for me, it is not even entertaining.
Can't wait to see more from Morgana, as i find her to be the funniest thing on tv since Catherine Tate, if not funnier. This makes me laugh with every episode of this 1st series. Like another reviewer has stated, i also hope theres a second series on the way as it would be a real shame not to see more from such a talented comedienne.

Brilliant new comedy from Morgana. Mustn't leave out the male sidekick tho who makes the characters even funnier in the twosome sketches.

Hope she gets another series, we've watched this one at least 3 times each ep & it still makes us laugh.

LIIIIKE EACH OTHER !!! =oD

Morgana is a unique comedian. She doesn't rely on hammering the viewer with endless repetitions of one-liners trying to force you to believe she "must be funny" with all that. If you are completely annoyed by 'Am I bovered? Am I bovered? Am I bovered?..." slung at you ad naseum until you want to just switch off, you will find great solace in The Morgana Show. If the bounce-around antics of Vic and Bob have begun wearing a bit thin for you, give Morgana a try.

Certainly, she has a finite set of characters you will see popping up in most episodes, but the writing is clever and fresh for practically everything. I disagree with the first reviewer who doesn't like her Boris Johnson at prep school character. She has him absolutely spot on. You can tell that her Boris will end up being London's Boris in later life. My wife almost couldn't believe that all the characters are just her. The makeup and the way she sets her face and moves her body are unique for each one. Not certain if BAFTA gives awards for being frightfully clever, but she deserves one.

Morgana is a lot of fun when she is playing against herself in some sketches, and can even make you feel sorrow and pain when she does Gilbert, the nerdy, lonely little boy trying to do videos with his grand dad as the inattentive cameraman (you never see "Grand Dad"). The only character I have a small desire to see disappear in any future series is the brash, gap-toothed, braggart, obnoxious male played (I'm pretty sure) by writer/producer/co-star James de Frond. At least he gets his in the end.

In recent times I have grown a bit weary of a lot of this type of programme, but Morgana brings the sketch programme new life and great energy and ingenuity.

I can't work out why this has taken so long to come out but it was worth waiting for! Morgana is an absolute star.

Her impersonation of Fern Cotton is spot on (win-win for me) but the runaway success of this whole series is Gilbert who stars in his very own show and 'The Gilbert Show' will forever be on my list of Top 10 TV comedy classics.

Gilbert uses a video camera to record his own show but does so on previously used video tapes so you get to see glimpses of him on previous days out. There are so many comedy moments and each of them genuinely has me laughing out loud. I absolutely love this character. "Grandad!".

If you're a Morgana fan or want a taste of what this DVD has to offer, check out the clips of her from the 'TNT Show' where Gilbert played an absolutely amazing spoof on unsusecting celebrities with 'Gilbert's Special Report' - search on 4OD/Youtube and gasp in disbelief! Hilarious.

Needless to say I can absolutely recommend this DVD. If you need a good belly laugh, Morgana/Gilbert's your man!
