The More Mile Cheviot shoes were awesome. I was a little unsure as I set off from home down the short, tarmac road from home to the trail. The long studs on the sole left me feeling like I was quite high up and a little unbalanced. Once on the trail, though, that vanished and, as I passed through areas that previously had seen me slipping and sliding, now without issue, my confidence (and pace) grew. In the end I did 7 miles without the merest hint of a slip or stumble. I did have a very minor blister on my left big-toe but that is my own stupid fault. 7 miles is way too long for a first run in brand new shoes.
The sole feels very stiff (should be good for some rocky trails I have planned for this weekend) and cushioning is minimal but sufficient. Comfort was excellent with a decent, tight fit around the ankle but plenty of room around the toe-box. Any water they took on got quickly forced out on the next step.
All-in-all I'me really pleased and very impressed with them. They will be my main shoe whilst training for a Trail Marathon in mid-January so I will update this review after that.
I am very happy with them. The fit is good and they are comfortable. I love the grip on these. Great for running cross country, mud, grass etc but I would not recommend them for hard terrain.
They may not be waterproof, have a quick lace system or be as durable as Salomon trainers but for the price you cannot go wrong.
They certainly look the part....solidly built but still surprisingly light.
I normally take size 11, I ordered these in 11.5 to accommodate trainer-socks under thick waterproof socks. A perfect fit. They feel quite strange when walking on pavements etc so they are certainly not a leisure shoe.
Used these for their first real test on a 35mile (well....38miles, if you get lost) off-road ultra-marathon. There were hills and inclines, tracks and grass, mud and clay....all given a liberal dose of rain before (and during) the run. These shoes passed the test with flying colours. I felt sure footed and confident both uphill and (where I am usually most nervous) down wet, grassy tracks. The impressively large tread inspires confidence and really does seem to 'bite' into the surface extremely well.
Brilliant value for money.

These shoes are cheap, but value for money at the same time. The fit is exactly what I expected, something I've not experienced for a long time. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Amazon Customer
Good fit, comfortable (no blisters even when they were brand new), tough and great in the wet. As good as other shoes I've had at 5x the price.Published 7 months ago by Amazon Customer
Excellent robust, hard wearing shoe with plenty of strength and support in the uppers (great for fell running). Read morePublished 12 months ago by David Stinton
