Customer reviews
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

PROS:
+ The tip sizes are well chosen, covering the majority of JIS screw head sizes you're likely to find on most Japanese products
+ The JIS tips themselves are tough, and all appear to have been precisely machined to size
+ The screwdrivers range between a good 12cm and 12.5cm in length (mostly accounted for by the handles), with metal blade lengths of 2.7cm to 3.0cm
+ The screwdrivers in this set are all certified as being ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe
+ All the screwdrivers are headed by a 1.7cm wide (black) rotating pommel - for fast two-handed operation
+ The set is supplied in a handy vinyl pouch that closes via a press stud (although I'm not sure how durable this pouch will prove to be)
+ Moody offers a lifetime guarantee on all its tools
CONS:
- When you factor in delivery costs, the UK purchase price seems quite high - although mine did arrive (from Germany) in only five days, which is reasonable enough
- I can live with the garish green colouring, but the plastic itself is hard to the touch (not cushioned or rubberised) and feels a bit 'cheap and nasty' when compared to some of Moody's (German) rivals
- Each screwdriver is inscribed (in tiny lettering) with its metric tip size...but NOT the equivalent JIS size: strange!
- The tips are not magnetised
- Instead of being a uniform colour (black), it would have been more helpful of the rotating pommels could have been colour-coded - for easier identification of each screwdriver
In conclusion:
If your product has been made in Japan or Eastern parts, it's almost certainly been fastened together using JIS screws - and you will therefore need a set of JIS screwdrivers to unfasten them properly and safely. If you try using a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen a stubborn JIS screw, you're courting disaster and will probably end up stripping the head - and ruing the day! This set of four screwdrivers from Moody Tools will certainly do the job (at a price) and is a recommended buy.
Using the correct driver tip on Japanese cross-head screws, which can easily be mistaken for Philips or even Pozi-drive, is the best way to prevent screw head damage, slipping and strip-out of these, which just leaves the screw irremovable.
So for Japanese-branded cameras, lenses, watches and various small electronics, toys and equipment - like mini helicopters - these are very probably the right drivers to buy, if you intend to open them up for investigation and repair.
Just be sure to identify the screw size required first, so that you can buy the right size screwdriver.
They have proved excellent in working on older Nikon lenses, allowing the screws to remain pristine, without signs of removal and repair.
