First off i must confess i didn't get these from Amazon, but I always read all the reviews both on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com and research as much as I can on any potential purchases I make, and as I spend a fortune on Amazon i hope they will forgive me this time ! :-)

I recently purchased some Q Acoustic 2010i gloss white bookshelf speakers for the kitchen audio/tv and was blown away by them ... so much so they put the main audio in the lounge to shame !

I had never been completely happy with the speakers in the lounge that came with a recently purchased cd/tuner unit ... they sounded a tad 'muffled' and not quite 'sharp' enough but I thought it was 'just me' until I heard the Q A's and knew i was right !!

I'm no audiophile and can't wax lyrically about mids/lows woofers /tweeters etc, but I like good sound and it was only when I heard the Q Acoustics i realised what good speakers sounded like and that i had been right in my opinion that my old speakers were not up to the job and started researching in the hope of improving my main audio sound.

The Monitor Audio BX2 consistently came up with rave reviews on What Hifi, AV forums and various Hifi reviews, so I decided to get a pair.

The build quality is fabulous. As you unbox it you know you have quality in your hands. Everything looks and feels 'premium' and of course more importantly , the sound is premium too :-)

I have a large ' 3 room through lounge ' ... 38 feet long with the stereo in the 'middle room'. (Speakers are placed on top of a display cabinet ) .. yes i know Audiophiles will mock me but i don't want floor speaker stands and the job of hiding trailing wires . They are out of the way 'up there' and all the wires are hidden behind the cabinet !!

I have had the BX2's for around 2 years, back when they cost considerably more than currently on here and contrary to the 2 star review (I shall get to that) still sound absolutely awesome.
As said in other reviews they have an excellent balance that suits even my own eclectic taste in music. For example the bass is deep but crisp and for the most part doesn't intrude too much on the sound scape. Even if it does they come with bass port plugs that reduce any overload
treble is also quite decent but the real payoff is the sharp midrange. Vocals have such a huge definition that you'll ask why these are so cheap (£150 at time of review is a steal).
Bear in mind though that these are proper HiFi speakers and run at a whopping 100 watts per channel. AS anopther reviewer said they didn't sound good with a mini Hifi due to power demands so make sure you get a decent amp that can cope and you're onto a winner

I bought these as a replacement for my B&W DM110 speakers which I use attached to an ARCAM Solo. The Solo was a recent addition and the improvement in sound led me to suspect that a newer pair of speakers could do it more justice. In addition to this, I just fancied hearing something different on the speaker front. So, I did a little research and asked a friend who pointed me to the MA BX2. I managed to pick up a new pair for £150 delivered next day. Wow - what a difference. They look fantastic and are well built. Their size belies their power. I am running them in at the moment - about 20hrs in on the recommended 50hrs. Even so, I can tell these are fantastic. I am listening to personal music and hearing new aspects: an instrument or effect that was hidden before in addition to greater dynamics. The whole sound just seems more detailed and lively. I am now very tempted to get a second pair for my home cinema setup. In my opinion, for the price they are unbeatable.

OK I bought these a couple of weeks ago , I've been in love with my old Mordaunt Short 20iPearls, now you have too remember your ears become accustomed to a specific type of sound especially when you've listening to that sound For 20 years! OK now to the nitty gritty Speakers need to be "run" in for a while before they reach there full potential. Right now I'm listening to Oxygene , Jean Michelle Jarre, and every day that sound Quality has been getting better and better. I can't convey the sonic bliss I'm in right now! I'm hearing sounds coming in every direction! . People These speakers are phenomenonal. My source is a pioneer PDS 730CD bought the Same time as my Mordaunt Short and my Cambridge Audio A5 Amp. Next step is a new Amplifier. If you see any reviews slating these speakers and they've hooked them up to a cheap midi system, go way way past it because these are HiFi speakers, which need a good HiFi Amp. ;-)
