Julia is rich, heart-broken, and about to spend her summer with a bodyguard, Roman, trailing her every move. Roman is a man with a mission... derailed by the appearance of Julia. A moment of weakness is all it takes to start unraveling the mystery of Julia's mother's death, but then Julia finds herself in danger, and Roman may have more answers than she thinks...
The plot was twisty and suspenseful, the dialogue witty, and the pace relentless. The lust was brilliantly written - you could feel the two of them setting the page alight - but, despite constant assertions of love, the protagonists never really felt like they were actually in love with each other, which was somewhat disappointing. However, if you like your lust suspenseful and action-packed, then give this book a try.
We all have moments of weakness, moments where we forget what we are supposed to be doing, where we forget what is right and just give in to our desires...
Julia and Roman try to fight against these desires. They try to tell themselves that what they have, what they share, is just a slip in concentration. They try to put it down to them taking their eye off the ball...
Katie Fox writes from the heart. With each scene that she describes, she pulls you in so that you can see and feel everything. All of her characters are perfectly developed (including the supporting cast) and, coupled with her ability to write witty and realistic dialogue, that means it is impossible to not relate to them.
The electricity between the two lust-filled protagonists will have you sighing, shouting, banging your fists on the table and generally falling in love with them.
Moment of Weakness perfectly showcases Katie's talent in writing and I urge you all to go and buy this book. With a well thought out plot that twists and turns, it is a real page turner that you will not want to put down.
A thoroughly deserved 5 stars from me. Well done Katie. I loved it!
This is a well written book with a good story, huge twist near the end and fantastic characters.
Julia was a good character for a rich girl they can either go two ways, 1- they can be a selfish, pretentious, snob and just awful person or 2- they can be a wet blanket and be a push over BUT Julia was none of these things, she was rich yes but she never used into her advantage and just seem like a normal girl.
Roman was also like able at times, the moment he was in the book in new there was something holding him back by the way he pushed and pulled and played with Julia's heart, he was conflicted and angry and it didn't sit well with me.
There is a huge twist that even I never saw coming even if I did have a few suspicions it was never what I expected which I liked as this one just hits you in the face and you sit there thinking WTF lol
The story flowed nicely and I can wait to read Romans story.
Some expressions made me laugh out loud for an entire minute; actually I think I cried a little bit at "parking the hot rod in the garage." Seriously!
The tone is slow, sensual and... What's the word? Hot. You feel the tension, because the author is brilliant at describing the heroine's feelings...
Then, about seventy five percent in, the plot kicks into gears and put you on your ass! I think it might have been even better if that major conflict started sooner but ether way, great story; I'll definitely follow the author's work.
Ronan is gorgeous mysterious, charismatic and swoon worthy - definitely book boyfriend material there!
The dad persona is perfectly nailed; loving it! He's an authority who says how things are going to go but he still listen and is affectionate - a normal dad; it's important because of the kind of sweet "nothing bad has actually happened to me" sort of naive person Julia is; if he'd been colder, it wouldn't have worked.
That being said there is one point I would rate bellow the rest of her standard: the main character herself.
Thankfully it doesn't hinder the story or the quality of the book I just didn't take to Julia; she's definitely on the self centred side of the scale. Not enough to make her unbeatable though :)
When 2 people's attraction to each other is strong You can feel it through every page turn,
I knew these 2 had some stories to share.
Sometimes we think we know the road we're going down when we have blinkers on and refuse to let anyone in, but there can be a little flutter a stolen glance & chance for change then we'll this opens up a lot for these 2 to take a different route & know they might just start feeling letting each other in.
The grief and loss that is dealt with in this story I thought was dealt with extremely well and I felt the emotion while reading.
I enjoyed Katie's easy flow on writing and enjoyed reading the characters she's brought life too.
This is a 3.5*** read from Amo & Sarah's Book Corner
