I struggled a bit with this one, although I really enjoyed Good Wood, so I am at a loss as to WHY. Its written the same way, from each of their POV, in the first person, but each chapter is headed as such, so unless you stop in the middle of a chapter, its all good. The plot moves along, the hand that Fate deals comes early, and Joe unravels at a rapid rate after that.
Its written well, I love how you can't tell that its two authors writing these books, you really can't.
I think I just found it all too much. Too much for Joe, for Molly and for everyone else. Too much WHAT, exactly, I'm not sure, but that is the underlaying feeling I got when I eventually finished it, and I very nearly didn't finish it!
They don't get their HEA, quite more of a "we'll be happy for now" sort of ending, so there is another book to come. Whether I'll read it, I don't know.
After years alone and shattered, Molly has reawakened a part of Joe that he was sure couldn't be revived. He's terrified of losing her, but their combined baggage makes every step forward seem littered with landmines. Molly's more than worth the fight, but she shouldn't be the one he's constantly battling. A master carpenter by trade, Joe has restored countless treasures which seemed beyond repair. He's determined that he and Molly won't be the exception.
Fate kicks in the door and rocks them to their very foundation. Boundaries are tested, tears shed, and Molly and Joe will question everything they think they know about themselves and each other.
This blurb gives exactly what this book is about, best to read Goodwood first, but in book two everything will be tested in molly and Joe's relentionship, will they get their HEA,?
Well written by husband and wife duo, these authors are going into my must buy list

>I am an independent reviewer. This is the second novel in the Carved Hearts series.
>Molly and Joe are living together and expecting twins. Knowing Joe's past, a reader can see how having yet another woman expecting his children could freak Joe out. Couple Joe's hidden feelings with Molly's feelings of insecurity and pregnancy hormone freak outs and the reader can see the theme of communication coming into play.
>The way Joe and Molly start to bicker, which causes them to start to grow apart, is painful to watch. The split starts very subtle, but the consequences feed into both Joe and Molly's insecurities. Only after the big "come to God" moment towards the end, do Molly and Joe finally get on the same page.
>I was happy to see both sets of family back. The Granny was so ruthless, but I have a relative exactly like her, so I can totally relate. I wish I had a Joe to stand up to everyone, like he did at Thanksgiving. I was cheering out loud!
>This book two does not disappoint. I can't wait to devour the ending book in this series. These characters are fun to read.
>This book is appropriate to be read by an adult (18+) audience due to sexual situations. Most of the sex is implied, but the implications are very hot.
If you love Good Wood you're going to fall in love all over again with Molly wood. This is a light emotional read. You have a mix of about everything you would want, a touch of mystery / suspense, emotional pull and some pretty hot encounters. The story flows so well that you just can't put the book down.
Molly and Joe have and amazing pull with each other and their love is strong. They have their trouble just like real couples do. In this read you get little more of a look in to the make-up of the two of them. What makes them tick, what has molded them to become who they are. You see more of their fears and joys in life. Let's just admit we all just love there batter between them and everyone they interact with. I fell in love with Molly's feisty, sarcastic attitude from the very beginning. Joe wanting to hold things together and hide from everyone makes you want to take all his pain away. Let’s not let the fool us Joe gives as good as he gets and just has a very interesting appeal about him.
I am totally blown away how this series gets more amazingly hot with each new part. This is one series that has become a keeper from the very start. I want to cry every time when I turn that last page, it’s one of the stories that you wish you never had to put down. Very well written and the flow is so smooth you feel like you’re living the story instead of reading one!
I knew going in this was a trilogy, so I'm hoping book three is more about Molly's business taking off and less relationship drama. I want some happiness for Joe and Molly! There is the tinted car that was doing a drive-by, maybe the return of Molly's ex? The annoying bombshell neighbor that can't keep her eyes off Joe and of course, dealing with the big surprise revealed in Mollywood. Hmmm, what complications are in store for these two that warrants a third book?
So Mollywood is book 2 in the series Carved Hearts and we met Molly and Joe in Good Wood. The story continues from not exactly where we left off in book 1. It's months after book 1.
Molly and Joe like every couple that come together are struggling to find a niche for each other. They fight and they annoy each other but their love for each other never comes into question.
While all this is happening the BIG SURPRISE is reveal and I could not be more ecstatic or more scared. I mean it's a blessing yet at the same time is it the right time. Well it seems they don't have a choice. Joe being the guy he is made me wanna scream. His reticence and his inner monologues frustrated the heck out of me, I wanted to go up to him and SHAKE him. Wanted to tell him that it was okay to think all these and then some. But finally I shed tears of relief at the family get-together.
Molly was just as frustrating as Joe, her thoughts made me wanna weep harder. And I wanted to wrap her up and tell her that she is sooo wrong. But these two beautiful souls did have a rough life and it's not really hard to understand why they think the way they think. It's just sad. And then the whole cemetery scene was sooo heartbreaking. God!!!
Joe and his father, then the white Christmas and the whole scene after. OMG!!! It was soooooooooo pretty and beautiful and perfect. When all things were going well and things have calmed some, the call came and my world shattered. I had to stop cause I wasn't sure I would survive like Joe. And then the cemetery scene again and I read a few lines and I wanted to throw my Kindle.
So if you are curious at this point to find out if Joe gets his girl, Molly, go 1-click the book. And if you haven't read book 1, then what are YOU waiting for it's ready to be added into you ever growing book collection. Oh btw it's free at the moment.
For me Mollywood was a solid gold star of beauty and heartache. I want Joe to have his girl. I want Molly to find her prince charming. I want happy when the outside world is chaos.
Mollywood is another incredible story that will keep your emotions swinging from sorrow to frustration to joy. I absolutely love Molly - her spunk, her individualism and non-conformity, and her spirit that was not broken despite all that she endured. I love Joe - his integrity, his love for Molly, his willingness to face his demons head on and conquer them. Mollywood is the second book in the Carved Hearts series, and in order to fully enjoy the book, I highly recommend that you read Good Wood, the first in the series, before you begin this. But do know once you start either book, you will be hard pressed to put them down. I cannot wait to read the final book in the series, Heartwood.
