Moko is a 22 year old soul singer from New Cross in London. After finishing an English degree at Goldsmiths she uploaded her first song Summon The Strength to YouTube in March this year. The track was quickly picked up by the blogs and within 6 weeks she was appearing at Boiler Room with Rocketnumbernine, selling out Birthdays in Dalston & being invited to play Glastonbury as a guest of BBC Introducing. Chase & Status picked up on the Moko buzz and invited her into the studio, a day which ended with both a hit record (Count On Me, which charted at #4) and a deal with their very own MTA Records.

Moko produces all her songs with a loose collective called Imposters, who hail from the same SE London postcode as Moko and work with vintage 90s samplers and synths. She describes her music as "an update on gospel, soul and house records I heard as a kid". Her first release The Black EP came out recently to rave reviews, with The NME saying she "recalls Neneh Cherry at her best". The lead track form the EP Freeze was playlisted at Radio 1, Rinse FM and 1XTRA, making Moko one of the ones to watch for 2014.
