Mogwai are truely amazing in this album. Their tracks are incredible, beautiful. The LP starts off with "Yes, I am a long way from home" and a woman describing Mogwai as the stars. She is not wrong, if the stars did have a sound, Mogwai is who they would sound like. They are completly out of this world. Like Herod is a unique song in the way that it scares the living daylights out of you, but i wong go into it, because you have to experience it for yourself.Katerin is a great song, producing dark, minor key sounds with quiet muttering in the background, and the unique Mogwai drumming. Radar Maker is very simple but oh so effective. Like most of the songs it is a real feel good tune. You can hear the subtle use of the synth in the background and it sounds top. Tracy is a very sad song, it is quite emotional. Summer (priority version) is a great mix of soft and hard guitars. A repetative soft guitar line leads into a sudden change to hard distortion and loveleyness! With Portfolio starts of quite spookily, and becomes even more so furtur on, the strange sounds that just get louder and louder just really begin to scare you! R U still in 2 it is one of the few songs with voice parts, although not exactly singing it adds a nice scottish accent, which is always good! A cheery wave... is an odd song but sounds really good and then it draws to an end to make way for quite possibly the best song ever written, Mogwai fear satan. It is true bliss this song, it cannot be described it is just so... perfect. This is an incredible album. Well done mogwai.
