Personally, I have found the Losing Trick Count (LTC) the simplest and most productive bidding tool I have ever used. Everybody should use it - it really is that good. Furthermore, the LTC is the one bidding tool you can use unilaterally. There is no need to agree it with your partner. He may not even know you are using it and will just think that you're a better bidder than most! The first few chapters of Ron Klinger's book will give you all you need to get started with the LTC confidently and successfully.

If you've been playing club bridge for more than a couple of years, then you should know about the Losing Trick Count.

After playing for over 30 years, I recently became aware of it. It's a method of valuing your hand, and bidding accordingly. You can EITHER fit it in alongside Acol, OR (under some circumstances) have it modify your use of Acol.

After reading this book, I started using it without telling my partner! On the first night we made two games which we probably wouldn't have made before (playing Acol with several conventions).

So I thoroughly recommend it. Why only 4 stars? Because the principles are so simple that they hardly warrant a full book, unless you are an expert. But it's still well-worth the money.

Fully comprehensive as you would expect from Ron Klinger, but too much complexity for the average player to bother with.

A valuable introduction, but once beyond the opening simple explanation we are soon into deep waters - probably too recondite for all but the dedicated player.

This product was a BIG disappointment. I thought it was a book but it's actually just a mini flip-chart. It's more like summary notes than an explanatory work.

I guess it's my fault buying it as the title does include the word 'flipper' - so I should have known what it meant.

Going free to a good home!
