This look looked so refreshing and contemporary but I was so wrong!! I like the design on the front which captured me in buying this book, but if I could have had a preview inside I would have changed my mind on the spot.
Out of the whole book including the cover picture, there was only 4 patterns which were different. All the rest was the same old basic dull design of basic log cabin with no contemporary twist or modern edge. The old design was just put into different project ideas.
The fabrics used are not inspiring, and will rapidly date.
I am so sad as this book has so much potential with this theme and executed so poorly.
This will be fun for a 14yr old wanting to make a mobile phone case, but it won't be trendy!! Pot holders for mum as a present, cushion cover for their bed and a basic quilt cover for their bed, and a waist piny to do some baking, a gym bag maybe.
The instructions are basic, just done in black and white, it feels like the author is keeping to budget rather than making a lovely book.
This book is 160 pages long, with 25 projects which are non inspiring.
I am donating my copy to my local library as I don't have space on my book shelves for books which are useless in my collection.
Not worth the money, monthly quilt magazines do better!

The inside of the book did not live up to the promise of the cover. The instructions are not particularly clear, the projects are mundane apart from the quilt on the cover. Read morePublished 5 months ago by D. Lapthorne
