There are far too many quotes, to the point that I no longer read them. I went to hear what the author has to say and not come across a succession of soundbites from historical figures.
It is very easy to read as each chapter covers a trait that one would like to have as a warrior. The author clearly understands his topic and I will be purchasing other books of his in a hope to expand my own knowledge. My only wish is for less quotations.
Since I've read a lot of books in this topic, maybe my standarts are a bit high, but this work is like a lot of random famous quotes scissored together in a book. All the chapters are very self repetitive, the writer writes basically the very same sentence over and over again, just with using (slightly) different words. After a time I had the impression that ANYONE could have written this book, mostly it's just ctr c ctrl v....
It's an okay reading, but if you have already read books like Hagakure and such, this book is nothing new under the sun....
